Noid Style
Of the two, I always liked Zack Ryder because he wore full tights and because "Kurt" is spelled with a fucking K. However, I just saw Hawkins' finisher, and it's pretty neat. Based on that, I'm hoping he doesn't get fired without a fair shot on his own.

Not a long Noid hypothesis, but showing unwarranted appreciation for a guy about whom nobody cares.

Also, Noid: Make Hawkins a US champ.

Both Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins are really young. I have hopes that both can actually do something in the WWE.

So, if I'm getting the idea of this thread, it's for me to make Hawkins a US Champion? How about an IC Champion, because the US Title is on RAW and Hawkins is on SmackDown!?

Just have Hawkins show signs of improvement over the weeks. Give him the time to cut a promo or two talking about how young he is, and how he actually wants to be IC Champion. Commentary would need to sell him as showing so much improvement. Eventually you just have him upset Rey Mysterio after Rey Rey makes a high risk mistake, and Hawkins wins his first IC Title.

Would people oppose Curt Hawkins re-joining Edge on-screen? I mean, yeah, it's a lackey role, but with Zack Ryder being gone, it'd be all-Hawkins, which would allow him to actually gather some level of permanent heat from it.

Aligning with Edge the first time got Hawkins a WWE Tag Team Title run, so maybe doing so again could shift him into an IC Title reign? That would at least put him at mid-card level, which is a way for him to keep himself above water. I mean, it's no guarantee the WWE won't again drop him down, but they'll at least be able to call Hawkins a former Tag Team Champion and Intercontinental Champion, which at least gives the audience the impression that he has some skill.

Hawkins seems to be in a similar position that Johnny Nitro was in when he split with Joey Mercury and went to RAW. Nitro, of course, actually had the benefit of having a really awesome tag team run under his belt, as well as Melina by his size, adding to his heat and character; but Nitro won the IC Title almost as a way of saying "we want you to be something so here's something for you to do," and although he did drop down to a tag team with Zack Ryder, when things got to a pinch, Nitro became Morrison.

I think they drifted themselves away from Edge after he snapped when he lost the title last year. They sided with Vickie then just went away.

Little Naitch pretty much has it right. They were rocking the boat with La Familia, and it moved Edge away from his lackey support team. Unfortunately, most of them were creatively left on life support after it.

Hadn't seen this videos before. Zack Ryder always struck me as the one with far more personality. He just looks like an evil motherfucker. Curt Hawkins seemed to have a much cleaner look, but seemed to bump better in the ring.

Maybe Destor or someone could really help with this: I found that Zack Ryder would eat a lot of the pins when the team would lose. Does that mean anything? Would that be the WWE testing Ryder's resolve, or would it be the WWE trying to put Ryder on a level below Hawkins?

I've heard some rumours that the WWE is more interested in Ryder than Hawkins, and he is the guy that got moved to a different show with a different writing team. But then again, Curt Hawkins in on the B-show, while Ryder is on the C. I'm just trying to wrap my head around just who has got the brighter future, haha.

Oh wait, they'll both be released. Never mind.

I still think that Zack Ryder looks a bit like John Morrison, and Curt Hawkins looks more like Josh Mathews.

Yeah, I can see the WWE finding that gimmick "funny," regardless of what damage it does to Ryder's credibility. Here's hoping he at least follows it to some wins.
