Old School: "X-Men: Next Dimension"
Ya know what? These guys [Paradox Development, then Midway LA, now who knows] were totally on to something. Mind you it was a sub-par fighting game even at the time, but a Western effort that was... getting somewhere. It certainly had decent presentation despite the shitty, unfinished mechanics (a Midway trademark). But this game has a soul unbecoming of most Midway games, I would have loved to see this series evolve. And after a quick search, lo and behold, these guys were responsible for MK: Shaolin Monks - the last great MK game. So I'm assuming they're the blacksheep of Midway, having some form of vision for their titles. Although, they also made TNA Impact. *sigh* Anyway, Next Dimension was a pretty good effort for an American fighter, and I think these guys deserve another shot Marvel license or not. |

They should have made the TNA game with that engine. I actually have that game. It's decent, but full of holes mechanics-wise.
