Foley (WWE) appreciation thread
So, I thought, "let's find some way to share all of our collective memories of Mick while he was in WWE under various "faces of Foley"." So, post matches, memories, whatever else springs to mind. Just don't go too crazy on me with the TNA stuff. I don't know who the hell thought it would be a good idea for him to have a TNA world title run, but it wasn't.

I think commissioner Foley was my favorite. Nothin' against his in-ring skills, because he was in some great battles, but seeing his comic side was great.

Synopsis for the crappy vid quality: Kane goes to perform his finisher, ref counters it, makes Kane bleed. Bell rings. Loading screen...Earl holds up the hand of the referee, who, logically enough wins because he was the first to make his "opponent" bleed

Never knew Shane Sewell was part of WWE in 2003.

Foley, in WWE, was a repeated flash in the pan. He put asses in seats in WWE, but so did Big Poppa Pump, Brock Lesnar, and Goldberg.


With all due respect to what Foley did for the industry outside of WWE, it's a damn shame that Rude, Piper, Henning, and DiBaise never held the WWE title like Foley did.

Definitely calling bullshit on that. Foley was the guy that every wrestling fan could relate to. He was the normal looking goofball who worked his ass off to make it in the business. And he was incredibly entertaining to watch and root for.

Foley winning the title was the moment the WWF turned the corner and started winning the ratings war. He's a bit more important than the names you mentioned.

hell in the cell at kotr 98 was insane he should have been crippled after that
that was the first time i ever went to a wwf/wwe show, when he went through the table off the top of the cage i couldnt believe how loud it was, i didnt think he was gettin up after that.... then through the cage from the top, that might have been even crazier...

i cant believe that they would even do a stunt like that just one month after owen hart fell to his death at the ppv just before that....

also i met foley as cactus jack in like march 96 i think (may have been 95) at a little show at my high school... paid 8 bucks for an autograph.....
