1st Round Worst Theme Tourny. 3. Marquis Cor Von vs 6. Johnny B. Badd
Harris Brothers proved to be too much for the Main Event Mafia. In our final first round match up in the Braden Walker conference we have the 3rd seed Marquis Cor Von vs the 6th seed and upset minded Johnny B. Badd.

Oh man, this is a hot match up.

Let me first say that I absolutely LOVE both of these themes, based on their hilarity alone. However, in a tournament like this, you have to think about pertinence. Johnny B. Badd's theme was over the top, flamboyant, and PERFECT for the Johnny B. Badd character. Marcus Cor Von's theme is probably the greatest song ever written of all time, but it has absolutely NOTHING to do with what Monty Brown was doing each week on ECW. I'll be voting Cor Von all the way to the end.

Cor Von's theme is a musical masterpiece, but it didn't fit his character at all...I don't think. They never really let him say too much.

I chose Johnny B Badd's theme as Cor Von's theme is alright

the vocals on Badd's theme are truly craptastic and somewhat hilarious


How the fuck did that guy last so long in WCW with a Little Richard gimmick is beyond me

..............This is gonna be tough.
Both themes are remarkable horrible, with really horrendous lyrics. So trying to ignore the lyrics out of it, and you have two decent instrumental tracks. MCV has a nice beat, a little jazzy, and it reminds me of night court, and certain parts of Maple Story.
Badd's theme is equally as bad, but I really can't ignore the lyrics. It's just a bad spoof of Johnny B Goode... and I wasn't a fan of Chuck Berry...
With that in mind, MCV's theme has my vote strictly because I cannot listen to Johnny B Goode without thinking of Back to the Future.

Don't mind either theme but the quality of Badd's theme makes him the winner for me here. Plus the fact that it's not original doesn't help matters but I realize it was intended to sound like oldie rock. I'd also have to agree that Marcus Cor Von's's music didn't go right with his titantron but regardless it's still a decent song.

Cor Von over Badd for me. I was pretty young when I first heard Badds theme and I remember getting a charge out of it (marking out, for those of you who speak the language), Cor Vons didn't fit his gimmick. Normally I think everything about Cor Von was shit (a shoulder tackle as a finish? Sniffing the ropes? Promo? Yeah.) but this theme tops it all off for me.
