Would it be a step backwards if Burchill and Reagal reunited?
I was watching Superstars tonight and after watching how well Reagal and Burchill worked together do you think that it would be a step backwards if they became a tag team again. I think that they worked very well, with there similar roughneck style. I think that Reagal looks as good as he's always been and even though Burchill's got that reverse Stiener look goin now (big legs and body, thin arms) he has adapted ground based offense. Do you think that we should see more of them as a team or should they keep them seperate and have Reagal become one of the top heels in ECW and well Burchill..... can unfortunately go back to jobbing.

Not too sure if Burchill and Reagal would work out. Perhaps Burchill and Regal might.

I do think it would be a step backwards. Especially when you look at who the current Unified WWE Tag Team Champions are. What I wouldn't mind, is if Regal's history with Burchill was brought up, and this allowed them to sort of form an alliance. Think how Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas were recently together on SmackDown!, but with more success hopefully finding Regal & Burchill.
Burchill serving as an enforcer for Regal could actually be a cool angle that I would really support. I don't really want to see Regal humble himself by again teaming with Burchill, like he was a full-time equal. Regal should see himself as the King, and Burchill should see himself as that King's Knight. If Regal bangs Katie Lea, extra points. |

I'm a Burchill mark for some reason, so anything to get him more air time is good in my book.

To be honest, they should keep them as a team that way they both have something to do. They won't get pushed as singles stars. They could be the WWE's British Invasion with Katie Lea going for the women's belt.

Regal has been pushed a lot the last couple years as a singles guy, he just hit a brick wall the first time and a suspension the second. Burchill was way over as the pirate, and Vince killed it for no legitimate reason. Given the right chance, Burchill an Regal both have what it takes to be stars.

Shelton Benjamin looks like he sort of turned face on ECW this past week against Zack Ryder and Abraham Washington. Shelton looked like the best candidate to challenge Christian for the ECW Championship at Summerslam. I'd like to see William Regal get the nod now, because he has been booked fairly strong since arriving on ECW -- he has a win over the ECW Champion, and got his win back against Yoshi Tatsu, and then got another one against Tatsu and Reks.
Christian vs. Regal has also been running at house shows. Have Regal win a Battle Royal, or something, working with Paul Burchill at the start, and they toss some guys like Tatsu and Reks, before Regal dumps Burchill from behind, and just sort of passes it off as teaching Burchill something. Regal goes on to Summerslam, where Burchill helps Regal win the ECW Title. Given that Breaking Point will feature submission rules for either all of its matches, or only the main events, you're going to need a strong submission wrestler working the ECW Title match. Who better than William Regal? |

I'd rather see Sheamus feud with Burchill/Regal. A mid-card (well, mid-card in ECW) feud against Burchill would be very good stuff for Sheamus, I believe.
As for Drew McIntyre, I strongly believe that SmackDown! is the place for him. They're lacking mid-card heels, and a guy like McIntyre could be fantastic there, if he's allowed to be an actual character, and not just a Scottish guy on the roster like he was last time. |

Yea, Burchill really cant go further down (maybe jobber in TNA) I was thinkin more along the lines of Regal. I think that he could be a strong contender for the ECW championship. I do like the idea of Regal being the champ and Burchill being his bodyguard. Just play on Regal aristocrat gimmick, and that Burchill likes to hurt people. He could have Burchill to handle his light work.

I dunno, Burchill picks up the occasional win from time-to-time. He's record is probably a bit better than Charlie Haas' or Jimmy Wang Yang's at this point in time.

I dunno if I'd call it a step backwards. I'd rather see Regal in the ECW Title hunt, but if we have face Unified Tag Team champs in a few months (maybe Cryme Tyme finally getting the nod), I wouldn't be opposed to seeing Regal and Burchill get a crack at it, just because their styles complement each other's well.

If the WWE unified the ladies' titles, and then had William Regal, Paul Burchill & Katie Lea all holding gold, I confess that I would be quite happy.

As singles wrestlers, neither Burchill or Regal do anything for me, but putting them together can give them both some life as well as a "valet" to come out with them. I think that they can be given a good run and hold the belts for a time if they build up right.
Otherwise if they stay singles, Regal should go back to being a GM. He was pretty funny as that. |

After watching ECW, I've decided that I really want to see Burchill align himself as Regal's lackey. Burchill was thoroughly entertaining on ECW -- both in the ring and out of it, although the out of it might just be because I love the man. Regal could just use some heel back-up to lend him some extra credibility. I loved Regal busting out his "The British are regarded as one of the most barbaric races in history" line.
![]() One thing about Paul Burchill, is that his character has gone through changes and stuff, but ultimately it comes down to this: He loves hurting people. He's not based around championships and such, so him just hurting people for Regal (who does love his championships) could really work. I'm just trying to think: Has Paul Burchill ever received a championship match in the WWE? |

I know it wasn't Jericho. He had like a two or three week long feud with whoever the champ was. Almost certain it was Kofi. If not him, maybe CM Punk, but I'm leaning towards Kofi.

Oh yeah it might have been indeed Punk as he was the other guy I was trying to think of that was IC champ around that time man that belt has lost the prestige since the brand split.

Isn't Regal still technically the King of the Ring? If so, then he definitely needs his knights.
And Santino for court jester/buffoon. |

I'll no doubt be on here bitching about how when HBK Superkicks a girl in the face, it's presented as heroic behaviour; but when Burchill wants kids to get sick, he's a bad guy. Damn consistency.
