he was still playing?
![]() Met him once, I think it was after he played for the Bruins he was at a local bar and everyone was shaking his hand as he walked around and he stuck his hand out to shake mine, so I did and then said to someone "Who the fu>ck is that" "Dude, that's Adam Oates". "oh... ok..." He was a good player though. I'll give'em that. |

Yeah that sucks.
It would've been nice if Anaheim actually won last year, so him and Thomas could've gotten a Cup.Oh well, he was still the man ![]() Also, Ant, it should be Kariya-Oates-Sykora, since Selanne wasn't on their team last year ![]() |

Yea, it was a nice gesture at the end of the game last night. The Oilers all skated onto the ice and surrounded Oates, giving him a nice send off. I figured he was going to call it a career, too bad he never got around to winning that Cup though

Dont be surprised if he comes back for the playoffs next year with a contender team. It could definitely happen if he keeps himself in shape.

cause that's not what his plan was for last year Oates is a class act and I would be VERY surprised if he came back. If he wanted to win the cup this year or last he wouldn't have played for anaheim or Edmonton. Granted the Ducks got him there. His mentality of going there though was to help the younger guys.
