I feel sorry for Evan Bourne

I feel like evan bourne is being under utilized. if you look him up on youtube, he was the shit in the independent circuit and he was decent in ecw, but since his move to raw, its like he has been reduced to nothing. the crowd loves him. they go crazy when his music hits, its just that he has been reduced to jobber status.

thoughts? arguments?

Yeah, I love his work in the ring, but then again it's not a surprise considering Vince's crush on huge buff men.

Despite not winning a match in however long, he still gets a pretty good reaction. I'm really glad Michael Cole decided to stop saying, "And if you haven't gotten a chance to see Evan Bourne in action yet, you're in for a treat!" six months after he debuted.

Cruiserweight under utilised in WWE shocker!

I do wish they'd do a bit more with him but all WWE will ever do is David vs Goliath matches. Which gets stale. Plus Mysterio basically has that for himself

I think they moved Bourne over to Raw way too soon. I would have let him stay on ECW, work with the New Superstar Initiative guys, given him an ECW Title match against Christian, and move him in the next draft if he still was getting the reactions

Of course he's being under-utilized......as was Paul London, Brian Kendrick, Ultimo Dragon (when he was here), Billy Kidman (WHWH), and many other CW's from yester-year.

Like I said in my other thread:

A) If it's a given that CW's will never rise to anything of significance on the WWE main shows.

B) If the wants ECW to have some kind of continuity on their shows so it's not just a constant "work in progress"

Then it makes perfect sense to put all the cruiserweights on ECW......and make the entire show a haven for CW's. GIVE THE SHOW A NICHE.

Hopefully, the WWE aren't thinking along these idiotic lines.

Unfortunately, it seems like they are. And that's bad for everyone.

No. He feels sorry for the fact that Evan Bourne will probably never be a world champ of any kind.....and at best, will never have the respect and prestige amongst most marks that he deserves.

Evan Bourne will be a star in the WWE, but his potential for star power will NEVER be fully maximized at this rate.....not even close.

This clearly will not be a 1:1 analogy, but here goes.

In boxing for instance - what if guys like Floyd Money Mayweather and Pacquaio had to compete with the Heavyweights?

1) We would see many mismatches
2) Guys like Mayweather and Pacquaio could still showcase their talents, but their potential for stardom would be severely undercut.

Can you imagine what guys like Mysterio, Bourne, Kendrick, London, Yoshi, etc. can do on a show all by themselves?

There are no more cruiser weights in WWE anymore. If there's no title or division for them they're just other wrestlers getting lost in the shuffle.

Absolutely. He's getting paid a hell of a lot more with better job security and the added bonus of not having to risk his neck every night. If he wants to go back to doing flips onto concrete, he can go quit for the indies whenever he wants.

I liked his cocky persona during his WSX and late ROH days. It'd work even better in the WWE considering his relative size - perhaps even to the point where he's delusion over his chances.

Have him come out and cut monster promos, get beaten down a couple of times by a few hosses and then one week sneak a win over someone like Mark Henry or Kane. The next week he's the self proclaimed 'giant killer', at which point he should enter into the midcard with a suitable nickname and some momentum.

God, I feel like Noid. Gonna shower, ew.

Wrestler does well on ECW/Smackdown. Goes to Raw and loses all momentum. This is standard WWE procedure. You should be use to it by now.

I think Evan Bourne vs Sheamus could be a good program to showcase both of these guy's talent and could make for some interesting Triple Threat and Fatal Fourway filler opponents for Miz in the US Title Division. Definately would be better than Miz vs Jack Swagger which i still see coming....and eventually Swagger face turn....

Evan Bourne is not someone the WWE will forget about. They know he gets good crowd reactions, and he can do all those impressive flips and shit. Right now he is on RAW because they feel he is exciting enough for their flagship show. It's not the best for Bourne creatively, but I feel that his stock is rising by making others look great. Eventually his time will come around.

The Miz is the guy that they want to focus on RAW's mid-card right now, so I am not really broken up that Bourne didn't win the US Title. That being said, I do wish that Bourne would get into a compelling program with someone.

To be honest, as I feel that his character is more suited to the "entertainment" side of the WWE, Yoshi Tatsu being traded for Evan Bourne wouldn't be such a bad thing. Bourne could thrive on ECW, and he'd freshen things up just a bit. Tatsu is getting quite a nice push at the moment, too. Granted, RAW might mess things up, but I could see Tatsu kicking The Miz's head off, or ending Swagger's "undefeated streak."

I have to go with noid on this one, the WWE won't forget about Bourne and i don't think its coz he is a CW, i just feel the WWE don't push any of this younger guys to the top as quickly like they have done in the past want and its backfired on them

That's a large part of why they didn't put the IC Title on Dolph Ziggler, haven't sky-rocketed Jack Swagger yet, and sort of cooled down on Drew McIntyre and Eric Escobar, too, in my opinion.

Can't say that I'm surprised but I though that supposed fluke win over would be the beginning of a momentus run. Instead they seemed more focused on Swagger who was uberpushed way too early in his career imho. At least Miz I can understand a little since he has been with the company for awhile now and recently ended a feud with Cena.
