Nirvana- Live at Reading

I just found out about this new Nirvana live recording at the Reading Festival circa 1992.

Songs like "Lithium" "About a Girl" and "Dumb" have really took on a new definition for me since listening to this. The rest of the album is just a solid performance. I would check it out if you're a Nirvana fan, or even if you're just starting to get into them.

Also, they do such a terrible job at playing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" it is funny. The solo just sounds like a bunch of notes thrown together, and the little two note guitar riff in the verse is all wrong. Good to know Kurt had a sense of humor.

They decided to start playing "More than a feeling" right before they kicked into Teen Spirit due to the fact they almost sound rather similar.

Kurt asking fans to say how much they love Courtney might not go over so well these days, but we know why he said it, what with all the shit they went through after the baby was born.

Watching them in their prime live must have been amazing to see live in person, but thankfully this finally came out. Epic performance.

But it is true how he does at times try to sabotage the songs he gets tired of playing.

Liked the covers they played, especially D7, and I thought this version of "All Apologies" was brilliant.

In absolutely abysmal quality, without many of the little extras on the dvd, however.

I guess I was too distracted to notice the "More than a Feeling" melee at first, but now that you pointed it out; "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is my favorite song on the album.

I wonder if Kurt fucked it up so that people would notice he fucked it up, and then in turn love the fact that he fucked it up?

Did Kurt know about the internet in 1992? JK
