HYPOTHETICAL: Shane McMahon appears on TNA TV
Now, I'm not saying it will happen (it won't), but let's say, hypothetically, Shane McMahon shows up randomly on a TNA PPV as a "major announcement". We then find out he has power backstage and whatnot.
Obviously Shane wouldn't do much to bring in fans and it would be more like a "fuck you"/"declaration of war" on WWE. - How would WWE respond to this? - How would you respond? - Would it change anything? Discuss. ![]() |

Either Vince will disown his son or it will be a genius plot by the McMahons to destroy TNA from the inside using a Trojan Shane. In the latter case it could be the single greatest moment in the history of the world.

It would take something HUGE to get TNA to the point to compete with WWE at the moment. Take WCW for example. It took more than just signing Hulk Hogan and getting a Monday night show for WCW to really, truly compete with WWE. It took two of the biggest names in WWE jumping ship (Hall and Nash) AND an immensely monumental Hulk Hogan heel turn to get WCW in a position they could really compete with WWE.
I dunno if Shane McMahon showing up on TNA TV would be big enough to cause such a shift. I guess it could be, if they worked it right. |

I doubt it would do very much. In fact most of the TNA fans would probably not really know who he is. But redon is right about the amount of push it would take for TNA to compete. Although I will say that now is as good of a time as any because the television ratings for WWE are dismal compared to what they use to be. The buyrates are also steadily declining. This is kind of a thing where WWE has no where to go but down, while TNA has no where to go but up, so there is an opportunity.
