anyone know any 100% free file converters . mainly ones that do VOB and IFO files . Thanks guys

The best and easiest program I have used is AutoGK (AutoGordian Knot).

Simple GUI interface. Point to the file you want to convert, select the format (.avi etc) and away you go. I've also never encountered any sync issues with AGK as I have with other programs.

It's free and takes up less than 10MB of space. You can download a version safely from cnet.com

Handbrake also works. Just remember to select the whole folder, which is usually the best way to do it.

I just keep my ripped DVDs in .ISO format with DVD Shrink. Doesn't play on everything but not a huge deal for me (I'm kind of anal about quality and would rather have it uncompressed anyway).
