Would it be better if TNA did a "Tough Enough"?

I was reading some of the others post about "who would you bring to TNA?" posts and I was thinkin do you think it would be more benificial for TNA to have open audition, hold tryouts, make it a competition between 8 guys and 8 girls? They could do it as a segement on the show, and isnt that how the WWE found several hires from the Boogeyman to John Morrision and the Miz? They could hire Al Snow as a trainer, and Sean Morley as the other trainer. It could be a good way to create some new talent for TNA (that isnt former WWE releases) and even if the winner dosent become a big star, it's a good way to build a fan base and have some other solid wrestlers that they could hire even if they didnt win.

Rather than do this, I would rather see TNA take a bunch of independent talent, and showcase them in a reality show as they try and compete for a shot at a TNA contract. It'd be like "Tough Enough" with real wrestlers.

You could shop around and find a lot of contrasting personalites and such, I believe. Colt Cabana, Kenny King, Jay Briscoe, Mark Briscoe, Ken Doane and Nick Dinsmore are all guys I would consider for the show. Even if you actually made it a bit of a work. You've got the drama of Jay and Mark being brothers competing for a contract; Ken Doane is a young guy that worked for the WWE, got fired for his attitude despite his talent, and is now trying to rectify that. You've got Nick Dinsmore, who is an amazing wrestler, but just doesn't have the "physique" that others have. Colt Cabana brings the funny. So and so forth.

Dinsmore has/had the physique, he was in great shape during his WWE run and at certain times after his release, his problem is he's bland as fuck when not playing a retard with a limited shelf-life. Colt Cabana needs to be working for WWE or TNA though. King, The Briscoes (prob more suited to TNA) and Doane could do a nice job for either group too.

The idea does sound good but TNA has a problem of not using their current roster well enough besides the WWE-leftovers and a couple of their current roster and cramming too much stuff in their shows per week.

It is possible though that TNA would use their "Tough Enough" wrestlers better than the WWE who rarely pushed or focused on the winners after the first few months since they would give up or prepare for the next year's hype for the show.

Angle boned Rhaka Khan and then got boned by her. Sirelda won some Gut Check Challenge back in the day and from what I remember, it didn't go over very well.

I think WWE did as much as they could with their Tough Enough winners.

Season One (Maven and Nidia):
Maven hung around on the roster for a while and once it became apparent that he really wasn't going to get much bigger, they released him. They gave him wins, had him eliminate The Undertaker from the Royal Rumble, tried him as a heel and paired with Simon Dean...I say he got an adequate shot for his limited talent. Nidia had a decent run paired with Jamie Noble as well.

This season also brought us Chris Nowinski, who had an unfortunately short caeer due to his health, but it seemed like they saw some potential in him. Let's also not forget that Josh Matthews was on this season, and he's still employed by the WWE today.

Season Two (Jackie Gayda and Linda Miles):

They both sucked ass, and I think the only reason two women were chosen was to throw a swerve on the actual season 2 finale. Even though they both sucked, they were given chances and used for about as much as they could be used for. I think Jackie may have stuck around longer, but that's because she was much, much hotter.

Season Three (John Hennigan and Matt Cappotelli):

Matt Cappotelli had some very serious health issues, or I think they would have definitely given him a real shot. John Hennigan is John fucking Morrison now, so I'd say they used him pretty well.

....I just realized I forgot what inspired me to make this post. As far as TNA goes, I think they would benefit more from a developmental territory first, then maybe they could look into something like Tough Enough once that's established.

I don't think Spike or UFC would be happy with TNA putting on a staged version of the Ultimate Fighter so I don't see it happening ever.
