Royal Rumble Title Matches
I find it odd that on the same ppv we have a heel vs heel title match and a face vs face title match...has this ever happened before with both types of matches on a single ppv and each for a world/wwe title? just wonderin if anyone cud refresh my memory...

Heel vs Heel has happened a few times and face vs face a bunch of times but I do believe this is time numero uno for both.

I think having a face vs. face match is just a way of cancelling out the heel vs. heel dynamic, in case the later sort of fails to capture the imagination of buyers. I'm glad that the WWE is trying the heel vs. heel stuff, though. It can be done, in my opinion.
Thinking of heel vs. heel matches made me think back to the 2001 Royal Rumble, where Kurt Angle defended his WWE Title against Triple H. ![]() |
