As Mortal Kombat's roster continues to gradually emerge, with Jade and Goro joining the growing ranks a few days ago, MK co-creator Ed Boon has been on Twitter teasing possible DLC characters for Mortal Kombat that might be offered post-launch.

Boon asks which fans would prefer given a choice of Rain, Shinnok, Kenshi, Robo-Smoke or an entirely new character. In all probability, NetherRealms Studios is already working on each of these characters as future DLC options, but the preferences of fans will likely determine in what order they're released.

While any number of fighters might end up making their way to Mortal Kombat as DLC, Boon is still (Johnny) cagey about the possibility of giving Xbox 360 an exclusive character of its own to complement PS3 gamers getting Kratos from God of War. "Sorry, we have no news on that right now," tweeted Boon.

If anything, it probably would lead people to either be upset if the KI character doesn't play or move like in the KI series since the Mortal Kombat engine and animations are a bit "clumsy"/stiff in design.

Rare doesn't want to be bothered by fans or reporters to make a KI 3 when their current attention is on Kinect and Avatar related projects. There was a report maybe 1-2 years ago of Rare considering bringing back the series when fighting games were enjoying a good revival but either Microsoft or Rare decided against it once Kinect was revealed.

Do you think Xray mode could be a good thing in the sense that, when young children inevitably get hold of the game, it'll stop them copying what they see if they are seeing what damage punching someone in the face or kicking them in the ribs causes?

We can tell them over and over again not to copy what they see in games or on tv and while some listen, others don't so seeing that bones break and organs rupture. might stop some more children copying it. Sort of like those things on tv that teach children to look both ways before crossing the road by showing them someone not looking both ways and getting hit by a truck to shock them into being careful.

On another topic, the game seems to have jiggle physics. Breasts jiggle at 1:32 and it looks like organs jiggle at 2:11

This game seriously looks fucking amazing, and after playing the demo, I'm sold. It's the smoothest MK ever. It's 2d, and nowhere near as clunky as any of the other games. Each character has distinct attacks and combos, and their own special moves.

Also, they took an idea from SF, and you can "Boost" your special moves by doing them while also hitting block. It uses 1 bar of your special meter (which when it's full at 3, you can do your x-ray attack.) The boosts are pretty slick too. They range from a double fireball from Cage, Mileena throwing her double sai one at a time, sub zero having a freeze beam, etc.

From the sound of things those X-Ray moves are beastly. Makes a difference if a guy does nothing all match, pulls an x-ray out of his ass and is right back in it with you. SF balances is by making the ultra meter separate from the regular super meter. You can pull an ultra out of your ass and start a come back, but you still have a guy with a big bar or super meter ready to go.

Raiden was invited to compete in the Mortal Kombat tournament, by Shang Tsung himself. Raiden accepted the invitation and took human form to compete.

In the end, Kahn's forces were defeated, repelling the invasion back into Outworld and restoring Earth to its rightful state.

Deception
This time, disaster struck the heroes. The Earthrealm warriors Jax Briggs, Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage were slain in battle with a Tarkatan horde; Kitana was slain by Quan Chi, and Kung Lao was slain by Shang Tsung. In a desperate measure, Raiden personally confronted Shang Tsung and Quan Chi in front of the Soulnado. Raiden put up an admirable fight and managed to hold his own against both villains for a while, but the combined powers of the two were in the end too much, and Raiden was defeated. He returned to his feet when Onaga, the Dragon King, entered the chamber. Momentarily putting his differences aside with Tsung and Quan Chi, he assisted them in their attempts to repel Onaga. When he saw that their attacks barely made an impact, Raiden released his godly essence, resulting in an enormous explosion. It obliterated the Dragon King's tomb, snuffed out the Soulnado, and killed both members of the Deadly Alliance, yet did little damage to Onaga.
After doing battle with the Deadly Alliance in the netherealm, Raiden's essence soon gathered again in the Earthrealm, but the essence came back corrupted. He had now become furious with the way Earthrealm's inhabitants had treated their own realm. He became even more enraged when he learned that Shujinko had foolishly unleashed the Dragon King by attaining the Kamidogu of various realms for him. With that, his patience exhausted, Raiden decided he was going to take matters into his own hands. Removing Liu Kang's body from its grave, Raiden took it to an underground temple that belonged to an ancient sect of necromancers called the Houan, whom he had destroyed centuries earlier. Binding Kang's body with enchanted shackles the Houan had used to control their revived undead, Raiden spoke the enchantments etched into the temple's walls that revived his former ally, infusing it with a thunderclap of lightning. The corpse of Liu Kang was now the enforcer of Raiden's will, and he sent it on a mission to wreak havoc on those he believed did harm to Earthrealm. This caught the attention of Shinnok, who appeared before Raiden and offered him an alliance. If Raiden were to assist him in whatever he wanted, Shinnok would try to ensure the safety of Earthrealm. Raiden was well aware of Shinnok's deceptive nature, but he accepted the offer in an attempt to secretly uncover Shinnok's plans.

I guess they must have expanded his ending with Armageddon or mixed it with Lui Kang's since in Deception he gets beaten up in the intro movie and then his ending hinted at him being pissed off and punishing the guy who woke up the Dragon King. Although the Deception ending was more of Evil/Dark Raiden than regular Raiden.
