Only ones right now with a winning streak are Santino and Miz with both being at 2-0.

Randy Orton is the next Taker. Why?

Because they are both cold and silent types. Randy is likely to never reach the level of Austin or Cena due to him lacking an ability to input humanity into his character. Thus he becomes in some ways 2d. Take is of a similar cast in that respect yet Taker has achieved something greater in an entirely different and timeless way. Randy Orton will do something similar.

He is a legend already and will continue to improve and ect.

I doubt that it will be, but that's only because of his character..... unless he comes out as "Mark" the 50-year old guy who played The Undertaker, which I doubt we will see.....

I agree. The Undertaker is not a flashy wrestler by any means. He will either lose, end the streak and retire, or it will be known that win or lose, it will be Taker's last match and he will walk away! Why not, he has a smoken hot ass bitch to fuck at home!

I don't think it needs to come to that in order to do a major sendoff for the Undertaker.

My instant thought was "yes", after a bit of thinking I thought "hmm, maybe not". Now I'm at a "dunno", but I can't be bothered to explain any further than any of that.

Was unsure if the WWE was only counting his singles career record since he was around 6-0 when he took on Taker but had a few tag matches and couldn't remember if he won all of them with Christian.

He lost MITB the year before his match with Taker.

I remember because I thought it was a shitty way for his undefeated streak to end.

I always thought 'Takers streak was more coincidence than any really planning, don't think even really mentioned it till it was at about 14. Thats the only way i can see it happening again.

Ya know... that really Urked me. Dont get me wrong the Rumble this year was great, best Rumble in awhile but no kane? why not keep that streak going? 13 straight. I know he fought Cena that night but.... idk... im a huge Kane mark, guess I was just disappointed.

It had to have been a coincidence up until about 10 or 11 I think.

I'm guessing he ended the night continuing such a streak of "terror" that having him enter the Rumble and be eliminated would have been a little step back. Meh. A streak of just competing in Rumbles isn't impressive or anything anyway. His streak of domination he's currently on is more important to keep up. Keep him looking unstoppable, even in a Royal Rumble match.

Destor
02-01-2012, 09:53 PM
tough question. Taker has had the better career, hard to argue otherwise. He's been on top longer and loads of non fans know who he is. He's been a draw for the entire time he's been in the fed, while HBK was only a draw in his last fives years give or it take. so it stands to reason that there would be a larger fan base for taker. and i think there is, BUT HBK's demo is more vocal. HBK is more "beloved." so i think people would be more passionate about HBK reitering, but more people would be interested in Taker. 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.

It didn't count. He left the match early due to an "injury" and the contest wasn't pin or submission. It was not until his match against the Undertaker, when he lost his first WM.

Yeah but the fact that he is only behind from HBK's record of eliminations by 4 or 5. Also being in the final four atleast four times. I think it's quite impressive. I don't think having him in the rumble, and being eliminated would of caused his steam to die down. Take Jericho for example. JERICHO CAN DO NO WRONG!

If the contest not being pin or submission makes it not count, then his ladder match wins also don't count.

Plus, it's a technicality anyway. If you keep a streak because of a technicality like that it's officially not even worth counting the streak anymore. He competed in a match that he didn't win.

First Mention of The Streak: Wrestlemania 11 in 1995, McMahon mentions that the Undertaker is undefeated at Wrestlemania... it's at 2:20 in this clip

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/8zjiDL6v9xU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

My favorite look for the Undertake is the current one.

My favorite Undertaker match is v.s Steve Austin at Summerslam 98, followed by HBK at WM 25, followed by Triple H at last years show, followed by Hell in a Cell Badd Blood with Shawn Michaels, followed by Hell in a Cell with Mankind, Followed by Cold Day in Hell with Mankind, followed by Hell in a Cell with Brock Lesnar... many others follow, he's had many great and forgotten matches.

The best wife he's ever had is Michelle Undertaker

The best Undertaker inspired poster on TPWW is obviously Taker It Easy, he's had a gloved hand in changing all of us.

The best Taker inspired gimmick match is Hell in a Cell

The best Taker inspired PPV name is Cold Day in Hell

The best Taker storyline is the story of Kane

The best Taker stare may have been on Raw this past Monday looking at his legacy in the Wrestlemania 28 sign

The best Taker title run was in 1997

The best Taker tag partner was Big Show in 99

K?

So I was thinking last night, and I know this isn't an original thought, but still....

With HHH walking off on Taker on Raw, what if he really isn't going to wrestle him at Mania? What if as COO he brings in a hired gun? And how fucking awesome would it be if it was Brock Lesnar? I'm sure I read somewhere Vince and Dana had been working on a deal or something.

Not gonna happen, but I can still dream :-\

Yeah, me too. I think the whole "I'm done with my personal problems" line or however it went got me thinking about it again. I think a lot of people are expecting HHH/Taker 3, W/HBK special guest ref. Would be an amazing swerve.

I think it is more to what HHH said during the Slammy Awards.

He said that even though Taker won, he was carted out and HHH walked out. That even though he lost, he destroyed Taker and The Phenom was dead.

So I think it is more of a "I'd literally kill you this year. Go home, your time is done." pat on the back.

That was my first thought when I seen him do that. As COO, I can see HHH telling him he's obligated to refuse a match because of his position with running the company, but as HHH, I can see him get cocky about what Taker went through last year in their match. Either way, I can see Michaels screwing HHH over as a ref.

So after making his return last week, wearing a wig. He wasn't in the arena at all instead they had him sitting on a chair watching some video footage..

Taker is out done, his game is over. The gimmick was long lived and now it's fallen flat on it's ass. The reason he's facing HHH again is because no one else fits the picture. He should just retire right NOW!!!. And go out on a high note.

Am fed up of seeing HHH, or HBK headlining a Wrestlemania!!.

FFS... Give some of the younger talent the spotlight instead of hogging it.

Miz, Cena, Edge, and Del Rio were all in main events last year...
So the only way that they could "give the spotlight" to the younger talent is to not have matches at all. 'Taker vs HHH wouldn't have been the best match at 'Mania last year had all the other matches not sucked so badly.

'Taker can still go, and he has a lot to offer, especially with the younger talent.

Another thing I also can't understand is why they would let their bigger names headline WrestleMania. Makes no sense to me!!!! :|

I'm sure Morrison headlining 'Mania woulda' put asses in seats.

I was thinking of this too. All of the major members of the Kliq (the former world champions) have all went down to the Undertakeer at Mania. It could be a collaborative effort by them to take him down this year IF the streak is ever to end. Or maybe HHH will use his influence as COO to call up ALL of the Undertaker's victims to get payback on him, ala the '94 Royal Rumble. Or maybe, UT beats 'em all again to cement his legacy as an unstoppable force on the Grandest Stage of Them All. What better way to go out.
