I've only met 1 black person that rolls a bad blunt, but I'm friends with my dealer and his friends so they treat me. I've given it up until I live somewhere it's legal for post-college job drug testings. :(

This is how Khali should always be used not a comedy act.
He took an hour to come down to the ring. Henry could have done like 10 World Strongest Slams before he got to the ring.
Khali shouldn't be booked in anything other than comedy acts. He can't perform worth a shit.
#1-norm-fan
02-19-2013, 02:32 AM
Khali in his most serious, intimidating form is still a comedy act. The guy can literally barely move. lol
I think this match next week is the WWE's way of buying a little more time to see if Undertaker is going to be clear to wrestle at Mania or not. They've set a deadline and will have to make a decision by RAW next week. Right now, it could absolutely go either way.
The new WWE Championship looks too similar to the old WWE Championship design. I don't really like that it's an all gold and diamond main plate - there should be some different color in there. And the general design of the belt is basically the same as the old one, except now it says "Champion" instead of "Champ."

I'm really hoping Punk doesn't get thrown into the WrestleMania match. It just feels so much "bigger" being a one on one rematch. Adding a third guy would just throw off the vibe.

I'm really split on this and have been going back and forth on the matter. After Elimination Chamber, I felt strongly that Cena vs Rock was the way to go. But after seeing the three of them interacting together tonight, I can also envision a triple threat build-up, which I believe would be great since Punk definitely brings an edge to the table which Cena sorely lacks.
It could really go either way right now. Unfortunately, I'm just not all that interested.

The Cena vs Rock rematch has that "feel" to it that it just seems like is gonna get thrown off with Punk in the mix. I never really cared for triple threat matches as main events in the first place because it just splits the heat. In this situation though, there's intrigue with Rock vs Cena and a rivalry that still feels fresh (they've had less matches in their 2+ year feud than Punk and Rock have had in 3 weeks).
Either Rock wins it and then you've gotta wonder what becomes of Cena after 2 straight losses to Rock in the main event of WrestleMania or Cena gets his win back and regains the title from "the man". Either way it's a huge climax. Punk getting thrown in adds the option of a less intriguing finish. One of them beats Punk... no big deal. You're still left with questions about who the better man really was between Rock and Cena.

Intrigue? There is no fucking intrigue in Rock/Cena II. Cena is going to overcome the odds and get his win back and become WWE Champion for the first time in over a year and half. Not to mention, the actual match would be a shitload better with CM Punk. If they can do Punk/Taker and Rock/Cena II that would be ideal. I just don't think there is much left in the tank for Rock/Cena. It goes from "I need to beat you, Rock." to "I'm going to beat you this time Rock and take back my spot."

Yes, there is intrigue. Cena winning would be intriguing in itself. Just like if there's a Triple H-Lesnar rematch. Tell me you would say "fuck this match" because you know Triple H would just get his win back. The Rock-Cena rematch from last year is the money feud going into the biggest show of the year. Throwing a guy into it who only got the spot because his real opponent can't go and there's nothing else for him to do doesn't exactly help matters.

The triple threat is far more intriguing than a rematch from last year that had over a year of build. Rock/Cena did everything they could do. The only thing that changes is Cena can't bitch about Rock not being around and he tweaks his reasoning for needing to win. The Rock still calls him a kung pao bitch.
CM Punk adds an interesting dynamic and makes the match a million times less predictable.

I'd rather they didn't. Though if they do go triple threat, it does give them the option for one of them to beat Punk and just use it to build up to the one on one rematch next year.
But I'd rather that didn't happen.

I feel like this conversation has happened a lot recently but...
Less predictable does not always equal "better option".
And that's just if you actually believe that Punk has any shot of walking out with the title. If you don't, and you understand that he's only in the match because his original opponent couldn't go and there was nothing else for him to do then the "predictability" doesn't really go down.

John Cena pinning The Rock is the single most predictable and uninteresting outcome possible at WrestleMania. We go back to 2010. John Cena has finally beaten everybody there is to beat.
If Punk wins, what is left for him to do? Who will take down CM Punk now? Will he face Lesnar or Ziggler? What is his relationship with The Shield now? Will Vince McMahon go into overdrive to screw over Heyman/Punk?
If The Rock wins, who will he face next? How long will he keep holding the belt for? The dynamic with Rock is that everybody knows he will leave again, but when? Who will take the belt from him? Every match is fresh with The Rock going forward because he has only faced 4 people upon his return.

Hulk Hogan did wonders for the WWF. By the time he left, WWF was in the shitter.
Austin winning was the passing of the torch and cementing a new marquee champion.
Cena has been the marquee guy for 8 years. All they are doing now with him beating The Rock is photoshopping The Rock's face over 98% of his opponents over the past 8 years. You have got to be pretty fucking dense to compare Cena beating The Rock to Austin/HBK. The fact of the matter is that John Cena is not as over as Hulk Hogan, and they are repeating the same problem where they cater so much to maintain Cena/Hogan's image as the ultimate hero that they have no other fucking big stars when he leaves.

And Cena is the man right now... and last year he took a back seat to The Rock who "regained his throne". Don't be a fucking dumbass. How many of those opponents he fought during his original run are in WWE now? All the potential matchups are interesting because they are new. The only problem is that none of them are on The Rock's level because they've been too busy making sure John Cena looks like God. That is why CM Punk caught fire when he did. Punk and Cena are the only ones on that level. Rock/Ziggler would be a fun match to watch.

So you're against it because you feel like they won't use the win to do anything compelling with his character?
If nothing else, losing to The Rock set up his journey to prove that he's on Rock's level. I agree that they didn't really do anything directly from that match as far as Cena's character and dropped the ball... but it did atleast set up the story for Cena to come back at this years' WrestleMania and get a signature win for THE guy over a fucking mega-star. What compelling thing could they do with John Cena if he "overcomes the odds" and beats The Rock this time? Logically, there would be nothing to change because he is officially back on top of the WWE. Who gives a fuck about John Cena getting his biggest win ever? He has beaten everybody else anyway. We get a "feel good" moment that we've had before. Y'know, the same kind of moment when Cena FU'd Big Show in MSG to win his first singles title, pinned JBL ending a record reign to win his first World Title, made Triple H tap out, Shawn Michaels tap out, when he picked up Big Show and Edge and once and won the World Title, when he pinned Batista to win the World Title, etc.
What would change? Losing to The Rock didn't change anything. Cena did the same shit. Now if he wins, he does the same shit only without the lame apology to his fans.
I have to agree with this. Unless they have something new planned for Cena's character if he wins the WWE championship, it's all gonna feel like the "same old shit."

Cena has had a hell of a run, but him not having the title for over a year didn't hurt anything. Let's take all these guys who are on the cusp of being long term SUPERSTARS (not just main eventers) and put them over the top - Dolph Ziggler, Daniel Bryan, Ryback, Sheamus, etc. Stone Cold only headlined 4 WrestleManias. Cena will headline his 9th WrestleMania this year (same number has Hogan, and you could argue Hogan actually headlined less since IX was an unannounced title match) Nobody will ever get on his level if you never give them the chance to.
He's the most over full-time guy in the company.

WWE shouldn't have let Cena soundly beat Ziggler already. He is the next great heel, but they have cut him off at the knees every single fucking time. Austin, Batista and Cena were built up to a point where their WrestleMania win would be a huge culmination. WrestleMania is the icing on the cake... it still takes that other 11 months of building the star before he hits that big moment that puts him over the top.
It actually requires long term building BEFORE hand. Chris Benoit won it at the main event at WrestleMania. He didn't exactly go on to be a mega star. Til he murdered people at least. That got his name out there. But still.

Instead of feeding Ziggler to Cena the past few months, they let him actually look like he is on Cena's level. Then, the story is can Cena keep fighting off Ziggler and can Ziggler finally put it over the top and beat Cena when it matters most?
It is a vicious cycle. They have no major stars to face Cena because they feed all their rising stars to Cena. The one time they buck that trend, CM Punk, he became the hottest thing in wrestling for months and is now the only full time guy who is remotely close to being on the level of Cena, Rock, Lesnar, etc.
They build guys up all the time. How many times has Ziggler been built up only to job out in the big match? Wade Barrett was fucking hot and they decided that John Cena getting his "moment" was more important than cementing Wade Barrett as a main event heel. I can go on and on. You know this is true. Cena doesn't need his moment. He has had nothing but "moments" his entire career. The Shield are the closest thing they have right now, but none of them are ready for one-on-one feuds. It is still a glorified stable war of sorts.

You and the half of the crowd you agree with don't exactly have more of a "right" to have it your way than the other half. Though you're acting like it. They could use Cena's reign to put over someone else, push Ryback or someone to the moon and then demote Cena if they see fit. For now though, Cena winning this one match is the right way to go.

Bad booking, yes. You are still missing the point. They could use this WrestleMania to complete somebody else's story instead of just rehashing the same story we've been told 1000 times. The feud had its climax when John Cena basically said that losing to The Rock meant nothing and The Rock went on to win the WWE title. No reason to dig this feud back up. The 3-way at least adds something new to it.
Also, regarding WM3, Hogan/Andre was cashing in on the dream match. You didn't see them do it again at WM4 or have Andre win at WM3 just to have Hogan "get his win back and epic moment" at WM4. No. If you wanted Cena to have his fucking moment, do it when the story was fresh. Rock/Cena is well-worn and nothing left to add to it other than an unnecessary feel good moment for a guy who has had more feel good moments than anybody in the history of wrestling.

I feel like you're completely ignoring the fact that half the crowd still fucking loves Cena. And there is a happy ending to be had for them.
Cena winning does nothing but tell us the same story we've seen a million fucking times. The kiddos have gotten their way plenty of times and there is no reason to tell a different story that they might like as much as "Cena overcomes the odds." Hell, they might even start liking other wrestlers as much as Cena. GOD FORBID.

I've stated my opinion and as the pulse of the WWE Universe, once it was stated the thread should be locked and considered over.
I'll leave this for those who claim Punk is as over as Cena.
Punk leaves for a year: ratings don't change
Cena leaves for a year: ratings drop.
You can't honestly deny that.

It is the single stupidest finish to a main event world title match ever. It was stupid with Cena/Batista moreso than Show/Del Rio because that match between Cena/Batista was sold as a fight to the death for who is the top dog in WWE. You can't hype a match up like that and then end it with a finish from Home Alone.

More people have cared about this thread than HHH's retirement speech.

Punk didn't have half the crowd booing him when he was the face-WWE Champion. Everybody was cheering and chanting CM Punk. That's probably why they turned him heel because he was out popping (and out selling in shirts) the chosen one at every show.

I'm tired of PPVs I buy being awesome until the last 5 minutes where Cena completely ruins them for me.

And drawing the lowest ratings in over a decade. Can't be that over. In any other era Punk is nothing more than an IC champ.

I can't remember the last time even the Cena haters said Cena ruined the end of a PPV for them.

I don't think it was that. Quite simply, CM Punk is the only guy over enough to compete with Cena and The Rock, so they turned him heel since they kept fucking over Barrett, Ziggler, etc. Since Cena will never turn heel and The Rock is a eternal babyface due to icon status, they needed a heel for them to face. Plus, CM Punk had done everything he could do as a babyface at the time. I'd like to see how CM Punk would have done if he had a long chase for the title as a babyface.

Since whatever Cena was doing was still the focus of the show for the most part John-Boy is responsible for those ratings as much as Punk is.

If Cena wins next week, we know 5 weeks in advance the last 5 minutes of WrestleMania XXIX. Just like when he ruined the 2008 Royal Rumble. As soon as he came out at #30, I knew the last 5 minutes of the PPV. It has happened time and time again for almost a decade. He hasn't ruined a PPV in awhile, and I'd like to keep it that way.
