Met Chandler Riggs (Carl) at the con and curiously his table wasn't swamped. He's only one of the stars of a hit TV show, ya know? So he's literally tapping his table in boredom and seemed to genuinely brighten up when I walked to him, more excited to meet me than the other way around.

I didn't know how much I was allowed to say around his handlers (who at his age are more babysitters than bodyguards) but I went in there; I flat out told his character was my favorite and I look forward to him evolving (whisper) "into a badass!" - which he took great joy in hearing. I asked him to lobby for use of Michonne's sword this season. We'll see.

Edit: I am wondering why they put that scene in the trailer lots of people are saying there is no way he'll die during that attack because they put it in the trailer, which kinda removes the suspense for these fans if he doesn't die. Anyway, I'm kind of pumped for that scene where Tyrese goes berserker mode. One of my fav scenes from season 3 was after Lori died (it's a season 4 thread, no reason to hide spoilers) when Rick went all Commando on some walkers in the prison. He only killed a handful but it was pretty bad-ass. Would love to see a scene where Michonne goes all Super Sayian and slices through a horde of walkers. God I love video games.


Also, interestingly, there seems to be no appearance of the governor in that trailer. I'm guessing he probably fucks off pretty early in the season then.

They sort of imply it a bit with the way certain zombies easily burst (example) when falling through the roof while others don't.

Def seems like it'd be easy to just send out a group each morning to do a sweep and take out any groups of zombies they find. There'd be a lot at first so maybe go out a few times a day. Eventually the zombie numbers in the area would die down and you'd only need the one sweep a day and then just take out any that make it through the sweep as soon as they get there rather than just stare at them through a fence while twiddling thumbs.

And yeah I guess have someone on night watch in case a horde of them come at night. Dumb tv characters.

Imagine a zombie moat guys, zombies walk up to the building and fall in the 6 ft deep pit and is now a defense for the building. Rick falls in the pit somehow and has to be badass, killing zombies to stack up and climb out. Eventually the moat becomes just filled with zombies.

I dont know if it was mentioned, but I felt like this episode was trying to establish clear similarities between Carol and The Governor.

Not in my eyes anyways. I felt they were advancing the character of Carol and re-establishing Rick. What I think might happen is a case of "why does Carol get banished discussion and friction in the group along with delving into Carl's lack of punishment for shooting a kid, etc."

I felt they've added some much needed tension to the show. It was starting out a bit to "kum-bai-yah"

And yeah, maybe she finds that guy whose shoulder she set. Maybe she speaks ultra cold and methodical ('matter of fact') with him and he leaves her.

There's way too much ambiguity with Little Ass Kicker, much like with Carol when she was missing last year. When you die on this show, they make sure you're there in some way. Then again, this could be the show's first infanticide - and simply how they choose to handle it. Also bear in mind Beth having failed her duties is something that can go both ways on a show like this.

That Carol's ideology essentially saved Tyrese should be something they work with when they return.

I believe that creepy cabin Gov and Martinez found a few weeks ago was a veiled Governor origin story. That was his home and family, I think.

And no, not because he was black, but because it's one thing when a badass huge guy is about to get decapitated and he encourages Rick and the group to stand up and fight and let him die rather than give up and it's another when a helpless, elderly, handicapped old man with tears in his eyes gets decapitated (not with a single swing, too) in front of his daughters.

Last three eps were really kinda weird. They built up the whole flu/sickness angle, and then were like "Screw that, the Governor's back, here are two slow episodes on where he has been, and now we are back at the prison, but forget that whole flu thing they are all better now, let's get back to the war with the Governor from last season"
