The Celtics made a strong final push to multiple teams in spots 4-9 on draft day. It culminated with an all-in effort in attempt to get Charlotte to deliver the No. 9 pick with Boston lusting for Duke forward Justise Winslow (the same player they coveted while trying to shuffle higher).

According to sources, the Celtics' final offer to the Hornets was a package that could have featured as many as six draft picks, including four potential first-round selections (a combination of picks from this draft and in the future). But the Hornets could not be swayed and turned down multiple offers to select Wisconsin center Frank Kaminsky.


Cs ended up misjudging who the Hornets were going to pick since they went with Kaminsky leaving the Heat with the steal of Winslow as a pick.

His deal will be a four-year maximum contract worth more than $80 million, with an opt-out after the third year, a source told ESPN's Marc Stein.

Sources tell Stein that Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, as of now, intends to coach out the entire five-year contract he signed last summer after the Spurs won the 2013-14 championship.

Its pretty sad the 76ers are in that kind of shape. Feels like they are tanking to get the #1 draft pick every year. They had a good young guard to build around in Michael Carter Williams but they traded him away. Felt like the Joel Embied pick was a bust from the start and that Jail Okafor doesn't want to be there. Noel hasn't done anything there either. Just don't think Simmons could come in and make that team any better next year.

Apparently the NBA has some sort of rule that doesn't give assistant or interim coaches wins. Somewhat of an issue this season because of the Warriors undefeated start and their regular head coach being out with an illness the whole time.

Luke Walton can be recognized for what he's done in guiding the Golden State Warriors to a historic start, even though his record as an interim coach is technically 0-0.

The NBA issued a statement Tuesday clarifying rules regarding coaching records. The league said the head coach of record, in this case Steve Kerr, is credited with team wins and losses. That means Kerr is 19-0 even though he has been sidelined since training camp because of complications from offseason back surgery.

Supposedly the GM didn't like or felt insulted with Blatt claiming the team was still "pretty good" following the beatdown by the Warriors.

Also seems like the GM didn't really like Blatt this year and just wanted for something big to happen to have enough of an excuse for the firing.

Most years you can skip right past the regular season and even half of the playoffs and end up with the exact Conference Finals matchup you would have predicated the previous summer.

Apparently a bunch of teams are upset at the Miami Heat over the antics they pulled to get under the luxury tax penalty.

Involved fooling everyone about wanting to go under the tax penalty but finding a loophole to get both Joe Johnson and a tax payout check from the league. Majority of the anger is at the Heat getting another player to waive most of his salary without getting nothing back in return.

Because of those antics, Heat guaranteed themselves a $2.6 million luxury check in the offseason and everyone else who followed the tax rules get lower checks as a result.
