Lebron broke Jordan's record for most playoff points in NBA history.

In terms of comparisons, Lebron needed 32 more playoff games in order to break the record.

Cs won't ever win a title with Thomas as their primary player. Really should trade him if possible but I doubt he has a lot of demand. Sure you will beat the good teams but you can't hide him defensively once you go against Golden State, Cavs, Spurs, Rockets, or any other legit title contending team.

Also, draft another guard will be terrible if you keep Thomas. LeBron has the ability to destroy any guard at will. Look at what happened to Derrick Rose.

Warriors have the weirdest record going on right now and all because of a meme from a toaster.

29-1 in last 30 games and the only loss was due to Klay Thompson having the night off.

I still am curious how this year would have shaken out had Durant kept his ass in OKC and that organization picked up the piece of the puzzle they needed to do away with The Warriors- which if you remember, already wasn't exactly a cakewalk for GS.

Given how the post season ended, I'm pretty sure my Cavs would have still shit the bed and that Kev would still have gotten his ring... but how much better overall would the sport be if the former Sonics got there instead of being yet another Cavs/Warriors finals that everyone pretty much wrote off as a foregone conclusion since about March?

Apparently this was supposedly the offer the Pacers rejected on draft night for Paul George from the Cs. This was when it was well known George wanted to bolt to LA:
#Celtics offered #Pacers 3 1st Rd picks (not #Nets/#Lakers) picks, Crowder, another starter for George on draft night

Celtics offer on draft night for Paul George, per league source, was 3 first-round picks (not the Nets pick next... https://t.co/ItE6PTulen
— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanESPN) July 1, 2017

And supposedly the offer from last season's trade deadline by the Cs. This was before George's agent revealed the desire to bolt to LA after next season:
Celtics trade offer for Paul George back at trade deadline, per league source: Brooklyn pick (wound up being No. 1) and 3 other first-rounders.

Celtics trade offer for Paul George back at trade deadline, per league source: Brooklyn pick (wound up being No.... https://t.co/WuhaULgSt4
— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanESPN) July 1, 2017

Emperor Smeat

According to ESPN's NBA show tonight, Pacers mentality for making the George trade was:
* No trade to Cavs or Cs unless they could get something bigger than a king's ransom.
* Didn't want him to stay in the East.
* Willing to trade him to any West team not named the Lakers.

Reason they didn't take the Lakers' earlier deal was because they didn't want to make George happy after he tanked his trade value for the team. Same with Cavs and Cs that a Lakers deal only happens if the Lakers would give up a lot more to get him.

Also reported had the Pacers waited a bit till after the Cs got Hayward, they were set to get as a minimum 1 1st Round pick, Marcus Smart, Jae Crowder, and Avery Bradley from the Cs.

Kyrie Irving wants out of Cleveland and implied Lebron as a big reason why.

Kyrie Irving requests a trade from Cavs, sources told ESPN. Supposedly he hated being over-shadowed when Lebron returned from Miami and everything always being about Lebron whenever he'd get asked questions. Thought he would be treated on equal status with Lebron or would be groomed by Lebron to be the next mega star but neither happened.

Also probably realized how much of a dump the Cavs will be once Lebron left and didn't want to deal with the mess while Lebron got to have success elsewhere.

According to ESPN's Stephen A Smith, Irving believes Lebron was the one to leak his trade request to the media which caused another wedge to happen between the two.

According to my sources, they believe LeBron James had everything to do with news getting out that Kyrie Irving wants to be traded, because Kyrie Irving and his representation and others met with the Cavaliers a couple weeks ago, and not a word got out until recently. They believe that LeBron James got word of it and was put off by it and leaked it. I’m not going to accuse LeBron of such a thing. I don’t know that to be true at all. But I know that’s what Kyrie Irving believes.

NBA changing their draft lottery system starting in 2019 with the biggest change being punishing teams who blatantly tank to try to get the #1 pick. Instead of the worst team getting 25% of all lotto balls, they will only get 14% which is the same amount the 2nd and 3rd worst teams will get.

Also increasing the amount of spots per lotto pick from 3 to 4 as another way to persuade against blatant tanking.

The three teams with the worst records will share a 14 percent chance of getting the No. 1 overall pick, a change from the descending percentages of 25, 19.9, and 15.6 in the current system. Four teams -- increased from three -- will become part of the lottery draw, which means the No. 1 lottery seed could drop no further than fifth, No. 2 could drop no further than sixth, No. 3 no further than seventh, and No. 4 no further than eighth.

But for the good of the sport of basketball, I seriously hope that both they and Golden State take a dive, and we get a Rockets/Celtics finals, wherein both teams somehow lose the finals and we have the first ever co-champions. Kind of crazy how drastically different things could have been had Ainge kept the #1 pick in the last draft. Cavs were not that much better for 3s but they could live with those misses since they had Lebron.

Cs just pushed their home luck way too much in these playoffs especially against Lebron and it came back to bite them tonight. Even worse is they gave him another accolade for experts to cream about for his career since he broke the Cs playoff streak when they go up 2-0 in a series.

You got an all-star team out West. You got a one-man show with bit players occasionally assed to step up in the East (deja-vu all over again). Everyone else is playing catch-up.

The number of disproportonate calls for star players doesn't excuse shit play. The wins and losses for most of the individual playoff games this year have been one-sided trouncings to the loser. A few bad whistles doesn't do that as much as one team taking a nap when they can't afford to.

Based on Wikipedia, only other time a team from the West managed to go to 4 NBA Finals in a row was the 80s Lakers (81/82-84/85). Bunch of 3x in a row but never a 5x in a row.

Happened 4 times in the East with Lebron owning 2 of those streaks and Cs owning the other two.

Right now its a soft cap but with a stricter luxury tax than in MLB since its around $1 in tax for every $1 over the cap limit.

Somehow, I feel like this is more because of the teams (or rather, the markets) involved rather than the happenstance itself. These aren't exactly two bandwagon teams. Golden State is one of four Cali teams - and they're not even the "premier" one - and had to claw themselves back to relevance even AFTER the Clippers did. And Cleveland has been a perpetual joke in pro sports for the better part of the last half century, so there is actually a generational gap where having something in contention is a relatively new experience.

If this were, say, the fourth year in a row of Lakers vs Knicks, or if Chicago did four in a row in their prime against the same Western team (I dunno, say San Antonio), I think the fans would still be a bit fatigued, but the NBA would be creaming themselves at the mere thought of all the ad revenue and ticket sales.

In a move that is very likely going to backfire badly, NBA's ref union is going to start live tweeting their reaction to calls during games with tonight's Warriors-Cavs Game 3 as the start of this plan.

NBA referees will take to Twitter during Game 3 of the Finals on Wednesday night to engage fans in real time and plan to address specific plays and interpret rules.

The discussion is being facilitated by the National Basketball Referees Association and will be done from its Twitter account, @OfficialNBARefs. The referees will take questions using the hashtag #RefWatchParty. There will be a team of referees answering the questions, but they will not be identified individually.

This is different, at least right now. Him signing with the Lakers as their roster is now has zero shot of even getting to another finals. Houston, Philly, or Boston were the only teams he could have joined via trade or signing that would have had a better shot at beating the Warriors then the Cavs.
When Chris Paul stayed in Houston and Paul George in OKC, and since LeBron opted out his only choice would have been Philly if he was chasing rings.

Going to L.A. with their current roster seems more like his retirement tour while he focuses on other things than basketball.

Probably the right teams, although I wouldn't count out the Sixers over the Celtics now that they are a bit more seasoned.

But 4-0 straight sweep all day. Unless the Warriors go to sleep for a game just to make it interesting.

Doesn't matter either way. The Warriors have ruined the NBA. No one can play with them. If they put in the effort they could go undefeated. Seriously. People give Lebron shit for trying to form super teams yet everyone jumps on the Warriors bandwagon as they form a Beyond Plus Ultra team. LeBron went to L.A. for the lifestyle. A super team they are not. Minus LeBron, Cavs are a lot better than the Lakers.

He gave up trying to beat the Warriors after the last 2 finals. Without a shot at winning, he choose to live in L.A. for family and business purposes. His championship days are over.

Nobody is beating the Warriors as long as they keep that team together. Houston had a shot, but they lost a starter in Ariza to the Suns, and while they lost a starter, Golden State added a 2 time First Team All Pro.

Assuming Cousins comes back healthy, while not QUITE as nuts as adding an M.V.P. to a 73 win team, adding a 2 time all pro to a 2 time defending championship team with 4 other all star starters, 2 of which are M.V.P.s, and a bench with another 2 former all stars AND a finals M.V.P. is pretty darn close to the most absurd thing in NBA history.

Hence why LeBron would rather stop beating his head against the wall trying to beat them, and instead wants to build his media empire in L.A.

It is more likely that the Browns WIN the Super Bowl than it is the Warriors not winning the title again.

Unless you try to form a super team elsewhere you have zero shot. And even if you do, you still only have like 1/10 shot AT BEST.

"... and then you add Kurt Angle to the mix? <s>You</s> the chances of winning DRASTIC go down!"

As a long-suffering Cavs fan, I am fine with the slide back to mediocrity. Once again, this is an organization that has brought it upon themselves. Both times, LeBron bolted because they refused to actually go get other better players so that he doesn't have to carry the team by himself year after year after year. Hell, this season, the Cavaliers were barely expected to make the playoffs, let alone last all the way to another matchup with Golden State in the finals.

This, as opposed to Durant abandoning OKC to join the team he almost beat and an organization that was poised and willing to make some offseason moves that following year to become the "Warrior killers" that they were expected to become.

I'm fine with James going to LA. They actually acted like they want him. Cleveland can sit back, relax, and enjoy the time away from the spotlight and expectations of being "good", and living on that Goodyear sponsorship money that will soon have every team switching to those ugly t-shirt jerseys that have more rooms for corporate logos on them.

Jimmy Butler and his big mouth got their wish.

Timberwolves trade him and Justin Patton to Philly for Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Jerryd Bayless, and a 2020 second round pic.

Even though the Chicago Bulls haven't been good or even decent in years, I'm a die-hard Bulls fan. Anybody else like the Bulls?

I've binged too much Urinating Tree recently, and totally read that as "CONGLATURATIONS" and took 100% of your statement in sarcasm.
