Visual Concepts gave an official statement why none of the Four Horsewomen are included in the game.

They claim its due to them not having the time needed nor a workable schedule to get them all scanned and modeled into the game.

When we travel to do scanning sessions we scan everyone that we can get into our scan booth. WWE Superstars and Divas are very busy so we take every opportunity to scan them regardless of whether or not we are using the scans for the upcoming game. We want to have as many scanned as possible because the scan is the starting point for us adding someone to the game.

It is true that it only takes around 5-10 minutes to scan the [Superstars] and Divas but that is step one in a long process. After they are scanned it takes our team about two months to complete modeling work from start to finish. The kicker is that the model is only part of the work required to add a [Superstar] or Diva into the game. Entrances, moves, taunts, attire, entrance attire, music and roster images all need to get developed. In addition, we need to record commentary for each [Superstar] and Diva which is a large undertaking all on its own. So, as you can see, scanning a [Superstar] or Diva is the least amount of work involved in getting someone into the game.


Previously 2K Games gave a statement that's been speculated to imply the WWE might have gotten involved with the decision based on the tone of the announcement.

Given the numerous reports of Vince not giving much of a shit about the Divas Revolution I totally could have seen him just saying to leave them out because he feels nobody gives a shit about women's wrestling and therefore it's not worth the time/expense of creating them for the game.

If only he were forced to read IGN's message boards, where seemingly everybody on there has an absolute hard-on for having as many divas in the game as possible. They alone would have gotten a Divas Revolution DLC pack enough buys to warrant doing it.</font>

What is crazy is that just like last year they snow us with graphics, entrances, and all the stuff they think is good, but within WEEKS of release. They drop the BS on what the game can't do.

I can get the fact that you have to develop old company stuff to adapt to 2K. But if you are going to remove something from the game, replace it with something comparable or better that what it was.

I would stick to 2K14, but they are shutting the servers down. 2K15 better be the Cat's Pajamas or I will sell that thing back to GameStop and buy Sunset Overdrive.

What was otherwise a run-of-the-mill trailer showing off WWE 2K16's character creation toolkit dissolved into a mini media-scandal this afternoon when one of the wrestlers it featured resembled the alter-ego of a well known games writer.


"Dr. Tracksuit" (http://paxamania.com/superstars/ss_drtrack.html) — who appears at 1:24 of the above video — is the persona of Giant Bomb's Jeff Gerstmann (http://www.giantbomb.com/jeff-gerstmann/3040-89712/) when he wrestles in the annual "PAX Wrestling" events (http://paxamania.com/) using WrestleMania 2000 on Nintendo 64 (full disclosure: Polygon writer Samit Sarkar has participated in this (http://paxamania.com/superstars/ss_samit.html)event.) This morning, 2K Sports put out a trailer touting the game's creation suite (above), and late in the clip a wrestler looking very much like Dr. Tracksuit was shown making his entrance.

In wrestling parlance, this foofaraw appears to be a "shoot" (i.e. legit) and not a "work" (scripted for storyline purposes).


After Gerstmann complained on social media, 2K Sports re-rolled a trailer to games media with the questionable footage stripped out. Polygon reached out to a 2K Sports representative for an explanation of what happened; he declined further comment.


Clearly, this has all the makings of the next great feud in professional wrestling.


The kerfuffle diverts attention away from the return of some key creation tools that had gone missing last year, disappointing many longtime fans. Most notably, Create-a-Diva returns (the only female wrestlers in WWE 2K15 were ones supplied by the game itself). Custom arenas, superstar entrances and championship belts also feature in the toolkit, and "for the first time" there's something called "Create-a-Show," though it's not entirely clear how different that is from the old matchmaking/storyline tools in prior editions.


Anyway, WWE 2K16 launches Oct. 27 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Splatoon is a competitive and skilful game but it's certainly child friendly and it has very simple rules like cover the floor in paint and don't cover the walls in paint because that's possibly the worst use of your limited time. Also a good tactic is not feeling superior and making fun of other people because they're not following your stupid wrong example.

I was one of those "buy it every year" types ever since the first Smackdown vs RAW game. 2K fucked everything up so bad with 2K15 that I've basically developed trust issues now lol. Despite all the good things I've been seeing about 2K16 I honestly can't bring myself to buy it because I'm 100% convinced that the second I let my guard down and buy it 2K will fuck me over and laugh their way to the bank. Can't enjoy a wrestling game now because I'm too afraid to get burned. Same problem I have with anything by Bioware now ever since Mass Effect 3.

Well remember that the first annual titles for a new console are usually barebones as they're transitioning to new hardware and all that. We all speculated that 2k16 and onward would be the return to form for the series (to a degree). 2k16 does look like how it's supposed to be.

Given that, you're 100% right to have a high standard and start from a position of distrust. That's the position companies need to be aware of and how shit gets better if enough people exactly like you did. So we're not grilling you or anything, you're making the right call.

Kalyx basically said what I've been saying multiple times in this thread. 2k was stuck between a rock and a hard place with 2k15. Their choices were to either add major changes to a stagnant product, while sacrificing features due to the unfamiliarity with the new hardware, or release the same old tired shit.

I'm not going to sit here and claim that 2k15 was a great game. At the end of the day, it was missing too many features. But I'm not going to crucify them for it, because in the long term, it was the right choice. You can see that already, with how 2k16 has come together. Would be one thing if they threw the stuff back in there and called it good, but they're actually improving on the returning features. That says they care at least somewhat about the fanbase and the product they put out.

Locking some of the match types to Universe and Career was inexcusable though. They need to cut that shit.

We’ve had a lot of fun making WWE 2K16 and calling out all of the great new features in posts and videos. The time has finally come to talk about the updates to Universe Mode – where fans get to craft and play out their own version of WWE. For the uninitiated, it’s like taking the role of Corporate Kane, Director of Operations. We know many of you are excited to hear all about it so let’s not delay any further!

Right out of the gate, keen players will notice that the match generation system has been overhauled. In the past, starting match cards were similar across all game copies. Now players shouldn’t see the same card when comparing Universes with their friends. From there, players can now assign Superstars to appear on multiple shows, creating more flexibility and customization.

We’ve added more Universe cutscenes and revamped a large portion of the storylines to focus more on quality over quantity. Between pay-per-views one would traditionally see around two possible story instances for a character’s path. Now those branching-instance possibilities jump up to ten, creating far more variety in storylines. Everything will make more sense logically with the Superstars involved based on their personality traits.

This new personality system gauges a variety of stats to influence Superstar traits and actions in Universe mode. Meters display opposing traits like loyal vs. treacherous, respectful vs. disrespectful, and discipline vs. aggression. By default, these sliders are tuned to align with Superstars’ traits shown on WWE programming. Brock Lesnar, for example, will be highly aggressive while The Miz will be cowardly and egotistical. By playing these characters against their base traits, one can gradually steer them to behave differently, but there’s also the option to go into the menus and adjust their traits manually.

Status effects are another new element shaking up the flow of Universe Mode. Status effects are temporary bonuses and penalties that are triggered through gameplay or storylines. The most common effects temporarily boost a Superstar’s attributes, which are triggered by winning streaks and winning big pay-per-view matches in rivalries. Some others affect how much a personality trait can be changed through gameplay, giving you the chance to solidify a trait or push it towards the opposite end. We’ve also brought back injuries as status effects with big changes. Injuries are inflicted when you deal a huge amount of damage to a specific part of the body, and the level of the injury climbs from minor to major to critical. Superstars can continue to compete with minor and major injuries with penalties to limb health and attributes related to that limb. Once an injury reaches a critical level, the Superstar will be knocked out of commission until their injury heals up.

Finally, it is now much easier to track changes in rivalries. Whenever a rivalry match finishes, a new results screen offers immediate feedback on how it affects everything. Previously, players would have to dig through menus to gather this information and this cuts that down significantly. Keeping tabs on developments and progression has never been easier.

Just had an epic Cesaro vs Steamboat match. He got me in the end, as I'm still getting used the new pin meter. It's a lot better than last years tho. Doesnt randomly increase in speed just decreases the target zone.

Only had time for 3 matches, but definitely notice this. Noticed that "rope physics" and other various little physics things are much better looking and work more fluid than I have ever seen.

Love the limited reversals too. Found myself wishing I still had a reversal a few times during matches, at times when it was pretty critical. The pace does feel like an actual match, taking some time to get used to it.

Did a Balor vs Enzo match. I could NOT get Balor to climb to the top for the Coup de Grace for anything. Kinda frustrating, but I also didn't bother checking controls for any changes, etc. Ended up being about a 20 minute match which I came incredibly close to losing multiple times. Good stuff, game definitely presents a challenge at higher difficulty settings.

Yeah I see some people bitching about the reversal system, but I love it. Deciding when a good time to reverse is and planning it out is way better than reversing EVERYTHING. I also love the two level reversal system, which can lead to some cool finishing moments too... And the AA reversed into the RKO is awesome. But I digress. The reversal system can really lead to you taking some damage while waiting for it to refill, which is great.

Also, the new reversal skill really makes the ring-out skill valuable. Before since you could just reverse everything it didn't really matter if you rolled out of the ring or not. But now, rolling out of the ring to avoid follow up attacks when you have no reversals is pretty great.

This is really frustrating to me.

Sure, you can mix and match segments, and there's a ton of wrestlers, but it does an ATROCIOUS job meshing the segments together. If you don't stick with a single wrestler's entrance the whole way through, you're either going to be teleporting around like you're Raiden or you're going to be scraping to find the one or two other wrestlers' segments that start at relatively the same position as another's ended.

It blows my mind that they don't just emulate the GCN wrestling game intro system. You have all the animations but they always make sure to end in a certain position so you can mix and match anything without jarring teleports. The SvR/2k series just plays four 'movies' and calls it a day.

Good thing the MyCareer mode is an improvement from last year. Renee Young talks and pauses like she is Christopher Reeve, but other than that it's nice to control your destiny through backstage promos
