Another overall enjoyable show.

Opening was "IWC goodness" (just a spotfest between two insanely athletic guys).

Women's match was..... well, Joe Hendry debuted :D
(I'm a huge Joe Hendry fan, I'll go into that more on another post)

Kross's debut was solid. I kinda wish they had him destroy an X division guy (because KM and Fallah are huge guys who were completely destroyed with little resistance)

The whole Eddie/ Dreamer thing..... I will give credit for them making Eddie entertaining as a singles. I get the feeling Dreamer is just there to put over Eddie (Tommy had always been a guy to put younger talent ahead of himself) so seeing them at Slammaversery isn't the worst thing in the world.

Cage and Kongo had a few "hiccups" but that F5 to Kongo more than made up for it.

Finally, Hernandez and Homicide returning was a pretty good pop. I kinda wish the roles had been reversed (Ortiz and Santana siding with King and the OGs come back to help Konnan) but it was a good none the less.

When I first saw it happen, I immediately felt the same way... for a knee-jerk second.

Then, I thought "what does that do for the new guys, though"? I got flashbacks of New Blood vs Millionares Club where all the young talent that were supposed to be the future of the company were all the heels, and the old guys clutching their spots were supposed to be the babyfaces.

While nice to see the OGs come back, having all three of the LAX newbs be the heels would hurt all three of them. Meanwhile, being a heel will hurt neither Homicide or SuperMex, and if they're taking marching orders from the supposed King of NY, then that gives him some kind of rub, to have the original guys side with him over Konnan.

It makes more long term sense, if they don't go oldschool TNA with it and fuck it all to hell and bury all six in either overbooked nonsense or an angle that just ends with no resolution for anyone.

I wasn't crazy about Impact this week, alot of segments and not much wrestling (although the six man tag had enough action in it for 3 or 4 matches)

My main two thing I got out of this week was that D'Angelo Williams really impressed me in the ring again (he seemed very comfortable and worked the crowd like he's been doing it for years)

It also looks like their building to a Joe Hendry/ Eli Drake feud and I am really looking forward to that. One of my "super secret insider sources" :shifty: has told me Impact really wants to invest in making Hendry a big star.... and I think that's a great move (guy is young, charismatic AF and an accomplished legit shoot wrestler so that sounds good to me)

Street fight had some bad psychology like why would you repeatedly slap a guy when you could punch him (it's a street fight) and wrestling needs to do away with trash cans, that shit is weak, also I hate it when a wrestler put themselves in thumbtacks, that makes no sense. Slamming someone into tacks is pretty cool, going up top and doing a front facing splash onto the guy laying on tacks is really stupid. But other than that I liked the pacing and it was pretty hard hitting. Homicide is always great.

When I started this thread I said Impact didn't know who they were but after last night I think they've found their identity. Show was good all the way through and seems to have really generated some buzz for them.

Opener was great fast paced and got the crowd ready for a good show. Honestly think Petey Williams was better for the match than Rich Swann would have been.

I thought the Dreamer/Edwards match could have been better and the angle to did after didn't get over as well because the match really didn't live up to a passing of the torch kind of match.

Didn't catch the end of the Su Yung/Madison Rayne match but it was the match I was least interested in. Su Yung just doesn't pull that type of character off as good as Rosemary does.

Tessa Blanchard is great and I'm glad she slipped by WWE. Give her the Knockouts Championship now.

I've always seen the X Division as an openweight and Cage as champion does that justice. Could see Johnny Impact being a contender, Fenix as well.

Looks like the LAX civil war is just getting started and it been pretty good so far. My one gripe recently has been the lack of legit tag teams on the roster and a good way to hide that is to tie up the titles in a fued with the one you do have in LAX.

Pentagon vs Sami was great and I'll agree maybe not for everyone but I loved it. If they're going to an alternative that how you do it. Match was probably the most predictable on the card but they did such a great job it didn't matter. I wish Pentagon would have got his beard as well.

Moose and Aries did a great job following the Pentagon/Callahan match. Really thought it would be Moose's crowning moment but that might have been too cheesy being in Canada and all. Fine with Aries as champ and should have a bunch of challenger after Slammiversary. Pentagon, Eli Drake, And Johnny Impact could all be lined up for a shot.

Venue was cool and even though it was small the atmosphere was way better than the Impact Zone. Fans have also found a new chant to replace the "TNA" chants with the "this is iMPACT!" chant so well go with that in the title until Bound For Glory approaches.

I watched Slamiversary a week or so later (caught up on most of my wrestling this past weekend) very good show.

It was alittle "hardcore" heavy (three different variations of No DQ matches on the card) but each was different and enjoyable in their own ways

Match of the night for me was Pentagon Jr. vs Sami Callihan, it's cazy how over Pentagon is.... and he doesn't really speak English

The "Suprisingly Good" award from me goes to Allie vs Tessa, had really low expectations going into this match and these ladies put on a great match.

On one hand I'm not crazy about Moose losing (cuz where does he go from here) but on the other hand..... I still say Austin Aries is arguably one of the best wrestlers around and if you're gonna build a company around someone, A Double is a good choice

Yea, at the end of the day Moose is still 6 ft 5 300 lbs so he can be rebuilt or refocused pretty easily (probably didn't put the belt on him so he can tag again with D'Angelo Williams at BFG)


Impact this week was pretty good. Kinda disappointing seeing Petey lose again... but I do find the idea of a tag team of him and Ishimori interesting

I.... really don't know what to make of the KM/ Fallah stuff anymore. I kinda feel the team had run it's course when they split but Fallah is a good friend of mine so I'm glad he's getting tv time.

I like Grado, Joe Hendry and Katarina individually..... so I'll wait and reserve judgement on the storyline. It kinda feels like an "Abyss Storyline" (I've talked to him a few times backstage at shows, he's mentioned how he likes "slow reveal" storylines so I figure he's a writer/ producer of these segments)

Personal feelings aside about Kross (there's a story there we can discuss at another time).... does anyone else see parallels between Killer Kross and Sami Callihan's gimmicks?

I assume alot of male wrestling fans watched Scarlet's debut multiple times..... butt it might of been "hard" to hit the rewind button on their remote when they only had one free hand :naughty:

Main Event was good.... not crazy about Cage taking some of the moves he does from a guy half his size, but it is what it is (that's just how Cage works, just gotta accept it) Just like Austin Aries, if you're gonna build your company around someone, Cage is a good choice

Special mention to Matt Sydal as well for really running and embracing this "third eye" gimmick. He's always been amazing in the ring, I think this gimmick has finally given him that "character" he was missing for so many years in WWE and ROH
