I go to the pursuit streaming ch still no impact every other show is on there streaming content but impact, so they better get other tv.

I think they knew that going into the deal, reason they brought the twitch simulcast in. Numbers for it seemed pretty decent for the start but like I said they going to have to do something if they want to reach 15k subs by March.

They didn't want this deal, Simple. They didn't want the shit time slot either. They don't want to go backwards. The Twitch stream getting 15,000 viewers is not going to be enough to compensate for their drop.

Based on some estimates, Impact's debut episode on Pursuit did less than 60k since that was around what the lowest ranked show did for Showbuzz's report last week. Worst part is nothing from Pursuit ranked either so nothing to use as a basis for how Impact did compared to Pursuit's other shows.

That also seems to be about the threshold range for getting ranked since Lucha Underground had a similar situation happen to them last season.

I get Pursuit but Impact wasn't even listed on my guide last Friday (AT&T Uverse.). I DVRd whatever was in Impact's spot, just in case, and it still wasn't Impact.

Looking now, they have it listed for this week but it's broken up into 4 half hours, instead of just a two hour block. Weird. Could be an AT&T thing but it still should've aired last week regardless of what the guide said, since I have the channel.

I don't think the logic you are using about gaining the 40,000 lost fans from TV to live crowds makes any sense. I see you ignored the part about this company doing nothing but TV to non paying crowds as well. How is it not considered growth when you go from having no live events and doing 4 tapings a year to now doing live events all year and tapings every few weeks? It's nothing big but the company is getting back to the basics after spending years being solely dependent on TV money.

I get not liking the cinematic stuff that they've done, it doesn't seem to be your cup of tea between the Hardy's and Lucha Underground. It's not something everyone is going to like but it doesn't happen every week. It's just on segment of the show as well and not like everything is done that way. Certain stories are helped by it, I will say the LAX/OGz street fight one they did was bad but it did progress that story. I don't dig into their business metrics, I just watch the shows and can see the difference between now and a few years ago.

If Anthem wanted to get into wrestling, they probably should have started from scratch. What stars has Lucha Underground created? What stars have ROH created? That is nonsense. People that want to watch will find a way to? Well, that means 40,000 people less want to watch. If fewer people want to watch their product, they are going backwards. TNA does not need more violence matches. We saw Eddie Edwards getting his face caved in and there seems to be plenty of garbage stuff on there. POP were right to not show that nonsense. That's not how TV works dude. You don't get paid for viewers. They would have got paid the same amount of money had an episode of Impact on Pop had a million viewers as they would with regular viewers. They weren't getting much from Pop either and that deal nor Pursuits have really said what they pay. So now actually selling tickets to shows not only gives them another source of revenue it also creates a better atmosphere around the show. Which was badly needed because the Impact Zone had turned into tourist and were the same crowd for months.

See what I mean when I say you brush stuff off. To say ROH hasn't created any stars is laughable. Most of WWEs roster has come from ROH. Lucha Underground has put a spotlight on alot of talent. Pentagon, Fenix, Ricochet, and Jeff Cobb to name a few. You are very strung up on TV numbers that has more to do with the platform the show is on. I'll agree that Pursuit is a step backward as har as reach goes but that doesn't mean it's also an unhealthy move. If it allows them to be more comfortable and fits on with what Anthem does with their Canadian channels its a good move in my opinion.

Dude, you get your money from networks and/or advertisers based on how many viewers you get. If lots of people watch your show, you are going to be more valuable to networks and advertisers because the eyeballs are on that station, as opposed to elsewhere, allowing businesses to reach a larger number of consumers. Wrestling has always had trouble reaching advertisers because of the perception that wrestling fans are moronic mouth-breathers, a stereotype which go way too far in attempting to validate. This is in contrast to a proportionately large viewership in ratio to advertiser interest. A wrestling show no one watches has got no chance getting advertisers and no chance being offered a good TV deal.

Don't lecture people on how TV works when it's clear you don't have the foggiest clue.

And as for how much Pursuit pays? I'm willing to bet it isn't much. I was reading somewhere that they are actually getting some money for it, but that is probably the primary reason for taking it "in-house," as you say -- they don't need to pay shit for it and no one else will take it.

If they were as bad as I say they would be out of business now? People have been predicting that for years, but some money mark always comes along and keeps them alive. Panda Energy floated it as a net loss for the longest time. It downsized considerably and has had cash-flow injections from Jeff Jarrett, Billy Corgan and probably others. Finally it's ended up the property of Anthem who want something to air, and it's been getting smaller and smaller all the while. It is dead, it's animated corpse just airs on TV for <60,000 people.

It's clear they're doing good business when they increase the shows they are doing? Or they could just have a parent company that is paying the overhead and they are running them to try and convince people that there's still something happening there? Again, I ask you if there is any evidence to suggest that this "new revenue stream" makes up for losing their time slot and network deal? I'm going to take a while guess and suggest that more people have stopped watching TNA than have started going to live events, and that the revenue from that comes nowhere close to covering the expenses TNA runs at. That's not good business, dude. And you will see -- Anthem will try and keep this running for as long as they can to convert it into something, but I think by the end of next year this thing won't exist and will have been sold off to someone as digital content for their library. Probably WWE to do AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle documentaries where they sit around going "LolTNA." And each one will be viewed several more times over than the latest episode of "Impact Wrestling."

And they will and always have been TNA. They couldn't even distance themselves enough from "Impact," for years has been associated with TNA and their epic failure clashing with WWE and being thrown off Spike TV for ineptitude.

It's debatable whether WWE's roster has got many "stars." But those people from ROH you are talking about became "stars," if that can be said of them, once they got to WWE. That's like saying OVW is massive because it had John Cena work with them once upon a time. What the fuck kind of point is that? John Cena became a star through WWE. Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan -- do you think anyone but the hardcores knows, or cares, that they worked in ROH? How do you think this works?

Who the fuck is a Pentagon, Fenix or Jeff Cobb? That's what most people who watch Raw or SmackDown would ask. They mean something to the people they mean something to. That is not the same as being a star. Pentagon and Fenix might mean something in Mexico, but to US domestic audiences they don't mean a fucking thing.

What does "buzz" even mean? Since you know so much about the wrestling landscape and where it's going, please explain how TNA have managed to capitalize on "buzz" and turn it into anything? Which metric is increasing? Live events? We've tackled that. Their ratings certainly haven't gone up. They've gone down. 10,000 fans on Twitch? Add that to the <60,000 and you get 70,000 people "buzzing" about this product. That's 30,000 people less than were "buzzing" about it a month ago. What the fuck do you even mean? People say they need to get off TV, but who wants them? This is where their business decisions and quality have gotten them. 12,000 viewers is what they are worth. It would be dandy if you could just go to a new channel and suddenly get a million more people watching, but they have NOTHING to bargain with. Is Paramount going to sit down with them and see a history of them repeatedly losing 90% of their existing audience and think “Man, this will go well?”

And don’t feed me that this is new management. They were dumb enough to buy a dead brand. This group has also put on shows with a dodgy perception, awful aesthetic, trashy acts to the cost of their own viewership. They might be exclusively on YouTube soon. After that, I wouldn’t be surprised if they sell at a firehouse price either WWE or AEW, depending on who wants the library more. Probably WWE at this point.

Was at this live. A few thoughts:

Going to a wrestling show that doesn't sell alcohol is stupid.

How many fucking dives were there tonight? I told my brother after the 2nd match I was hopeful not to see another dive all night. Sadly there were at least 2 in almost every match.

These guys don't talk to each other before the shows. A lot of these matches were exactly the same. Along with dives I could go without seeing tornado ddts and enziguris for the rest of the weekend.

Joey Ryan-Tessa Blanchard and Callihan-Havoc were both really fun.

Why is Swann winning with a 2nd rope phoenix splash and not a top rope?

Eddie Edwards is really entertaining.

I was sitting a row behind Don Callis on commentary. He looked like he didn't want to be there all night.

A fun time but really should've been drunk for this.

If I'm AEW, I'm much more excited at the prospect of getting Tessa Blanchard and Eli Drake. I think ROH is a much more likely destination for him, because Bubba Ray is an attention whore.

Actually agree, Eli shouldn't have been booked in a intergender match. Like I've said Impact hasn't used Eli well since he signed his last extension with them. I'm not against intergender matches all together but Eli isn't someone who should do them, Joey Ryan on the other hand is perfect for them.

Say what you want about Joey Ryan, he was by far the most entertaining part of that iMPACT show Mania weekend live. Everything else felt the exact same whereas Joey Ryan and Tessa Blanchard were a breath of fresh air.

Plus Joey Ryan gets my kudos as he was the only wrestler out with the fans after the show selling shirts and taking pics. Made time for everyone, seemed like a really good dude.

1 - as a face, he'd go up to the turnbuckle for the 10 punch spot, one of the easiest ways to pop the crowd because it lets them participate. He'd always end up punching way too fast for anyone to join in.

2 - when he turned heel in 2017 and started wearing the American flag on his tights despite performing in an overly patriotic country.

Good show, having Lucha Bros vs LAX as the main event was the right choice. Felt like the world title match got real sloppy after the Spanish fly spot.
