Ronaldo crying like a little girl

Rob

Well done to them. They played to their strengths since they knew they couldn't play the fancy skillful crap everyone else tries to play and it worked for them. Biggest upset I have ever seen in sports but very well deserved.

Real sorry for Ronaldo though. He was the only Portugal player who tired to win and my heart honestly sunk watching him cry. Dunno why either since I just said a few weeks ago I love seeing footballers cry.

Well Ronaldo is young, he has more chances at winning a major (World Cup, Euro).

'And yet we went home first?! Man, where's the world coming to?'

Tomorrow, they will petition against Uefa to be Euro champions.

Simple logic: Russia beat the Euro champions, so they should be champions thenself.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but did anyone else find the game boring? I mean until there was 15 minutes left (there abouts) both sides looked tense or something. Once Greece went into a shell and Portugal tried to press, then it was more entertaining but even then, they hardly got anything on net.

I dunno, I was hoping for something better.

I expect him to wake up in a gutter surrounded by half eaten gyros and bottles of Oozo, somewhere around Wednesady or Thursday.

Uefa's Euro 2004 All-Star Squad:

Goalkeepers: Petr Cech (Czech Republic), Antonios Nikopolidis (Greece).

Defenders: Sol Campbell, Ashley Cole (both England), Traianos Dellas, Georgios Seitaridis (both Greece), Olof Mellberg (Sweden), Ricardo Carvalho (Portugal), Gianluca Zambrotta (Italy).

Midfielders: Michael Ballack (Germany), Luis Figo, Maniche (both Portugal), Frank Lampard (England), Pavel Nedved (Czech Republic), Theo Zagorakis (Greece), Zinedine Zidane (France).

Forwards: Milan Baros (Czech Republic), Wayne Rooney (England), Angelos Charisteas (Greece), Henrik Larsson (Sweden), Ruud van Nistelrooy (Holland), Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal), Jon Dalh Tomasson (Denmark).

That's fair enough really, Phillipe Lahm had a good tournament at left back for Germany though, so he's unlucky not to be there.

OK, just gotten home from 2 of the most insane days of all time. :D

Went down to a mates farm (about an hour from Melbourne on the day of the final). I dropped my stuff off, we went out to the town for some dinner, then hung round til 2:30am. Then we drove back to Melbourne to the heart of the city to watch the final with about 15,000 other people. I have NEVER seen so many FUCKING FLARES in my life. I was literally choking on the amount of smoke that was in the air. Overall there were about 2000 flares, when Charisteas headed in the goal about 500 went off at once, it was FUCKING INCREDIBLE.

Melbourne is buzzing at the moment, it's just the greatest thing that Hellas are champions. I never thought they'd be able to do it, having said that I did believe they had the capacity to win games, but not get into the fricken final then win it! They didn't play the best style, they didn't have the best players but they worked as a team and grinded out the 1-0 wins while frustrating the shit out of the opposition. To beat Portugal twice in one tournament in Portugal just tops it off. It was just mad stuff.

BRB, my scarf is still (2 days later) covered in orange stains, plus my brother taped the celebrations for me so I'm going to watch them. OLE OLE OLE OLE HELLAS HELLAS :D :D

Oh yeah, where the fuck were the Portugese fans at the ground? You couldn't hear them at all. :|

Yesterday, I did a 4 hour shift at work. I'm in West End, and if anyone knows anything about Brisbane, my shop is about 2 streets away from the Greek club. They came into our store all day, but not one of them I served bought a single food item (I DO work in a supermarket). The whole day, all the bought was:

a) Sparklers
b) blue face paint
c) blue glitter wigs
d) silly string.

And that was only after we'd sold out of emergency road flares :D.

As for the game, the best part was seeing Cristiano Ronaldo in tears at the end :D.

Oh and yianni, the wire on my mike is busted (my arsehole brother tripped over the thing yesterday  ). You'll have to wait a few days before I can get the bastard fixed .
