Ending was goofy but that was arguably Taker's best Mania match since the HBK retirement one at Mania 26.

Everything about that match was great.

Rest of Mania was pretty boring to decent at best but also barely felt special at all.

Well, guess I'm in the minority here, but I hated it overall. Way too over produced. If I wanted to watch a movie, I'd watch a movie. This is no friggin' movie. If it was just a straight up, old school, backyard fight, it wins hands down. The post-production theatrics was way over the top.

The ladder match and K.O. vs Seth were both very good. Becky and Shayna was good while it lasted, but should have went at least 5-10 minutes longer.

Daniel Bryan vs Sami was alright, but without the crowd I would have preferred they had a clinic of a match instead of Sami playing the chickenshit heel, even though it fits his character perfectly but without a crowd of doesn't have the same impact.

Was rather surprised Elias beat Corbin, seems an odd followup to last year's Mania with Corbin beating Kurt Angle clean.

Women's tag match forgettable.

Strowman vs Goldberg is just funny to me.
After feeding the Fiend to Goldberg, Goldberg loses in 2 minutes lol. After all the missed opportunities with Strowman, NOW they finally pull the trigger lol?

On paper night 2 doesn't seem as strong overall, but it does have the 3 highly anticipated matches, so it could end up better.

WWE and the talent involved should get credit for putting together a good short film. It was entertaining. It wasn't a wrestling match though. It wasn't even a wrestling segment. It was a short film, or at best, the final fight scene in a B action movie.

My wife said it best, for what it was, it was a good, as good as the final fight scene in Walking Tall. All of this could have been done as well or better (and is often) by a college film major working on their final projects. Yet it took a multi-million dollar company that's creative is run by a 74 year old man, to do the same... and now its being praised as some brilliant game changer by some idiots.

Again, it was different, and actually entertaining, unlike the rest of the show. They should get credit for that. However, it wasn't perfect, and had its flaws and goofy/ridiculous moments, and, if it wasn't for the talent/characters involved, and the storyline, it certainly wouldn't have worked. It's not some magical formula WWE can suddenly start using again and again. Sadly, I can easily see Vince being stupid and arrogant enough to keep trying to repeatedly do something similar with inferior talent, characters, storylines, etc.

Overall for night one if Becky/Shayna had more time (I'm surprised at the ending but it wasn't bad just unexpexted) I think you would have had 3 decent matches (KO and Ladder match). The ladder match probably went off better as 1 v 1 v 1 than 3 tag teams, and the ending was at least unique and it didn't suffer too much from the usual "climb up the ladder real slow like an idiot" trope most ladder matches get. Everything else would have been forgettable no matter what, with an aside that Goldberg benefited from Roman backing out since that match would have had to go longer and been more varied.

Night 2has 4 key matches (Charlotte, Edge, McIntyre and Cena) I feel like Edge and Orton probably has a shot of being the best match of both nights.

Nowhere near as bad as I expected.

I skipped the stuff I wasn’t interested in (Womens Tag Team, Elias/Corbin), the rest was satisfactory.

I called the finish of Baszler/Lynch. I thought the Tag Title Ladder Match could have had a more interesting finish (Jimmy & Kofi taking a belt each and having to team, Jimmy/Jey swapping places, or just Miz/Morrison losing the belts as it gives them a legitimate gripe to run with) but the match itself was good. I was fearful that Zayn/Bryan was going to go long and come off badly with no crowd but they kept it short, Rollins/Owens was good (could have done without the DQ though), pretty impressed with AJ/Taker (could have done without the pyro show at the end though).

I’ve got more hope for Night 2 now.

He has said a few times that training for bulk at his age is miserable. Another aspect of that is you can't do much cardio because you would burn too many calories. Amplify that by a guy in his 50's it is what it is, he looks good and can be explosive in short burst.

If he was going to get in actual ring shape at his age, he would probably be around 240lbs instead of 280, but that's not the look of the "Goldberg Character".

I'm fine with him doing what he does, but as an attraction, not the champion.

Braun/Berg.... Crazy how Braun had all this momentum and steam behind him.... then they just did nothing with him... eventually gave him the IC Title, which no one really cares about anymore, and now randomly the Universal Title..... long after everyone has stopped caring about him really.....

Despite WWE usually being terrible with long term storylines, this Otis-Mandy-Ziggy one has been pretty good so far and even had a nice Mania payoff.

Never really saw Heavy Machinery in NXT, but I saw them on SmackDown recently and they sort of won me over. I wouldn't get excited for anything they do, but good for Otis getting this shot against Ziggler. Good chance for him to move into loveable mid-card babyface territory.
