Atlanta gets:
Antoine Walker

Dallas:
Jason Terry
Alan Henderson

New stuff on the Kobe case. Looks like he was accused of forcing sexual relations at a party at...Shaq's house in orlando. The previous accuser and SHAQ himself might be called on to testify.

Wow. Not looking good for Kobe. Although I still have my doubts if he did it or not. :-\

Well now it looks like Peja has requested to be traded. If he goes, I seriously thinks it really makes the Kings look ordinary, especially if they don't get equal value back. Well on the bright side, it gives the Lakers a better chance to win the Pacific. ;)

Whats with this offseason and so many trade requests by huge stars? Shaq... VC... Kidd....Ray Allen. Now Peja. Craziness.

An NBA source told ESPN.com's Bill Simmons that the Celtics have dealt Chris Mihm (in a sign-and-trade), guards Marcus Banks and Chucky Atkins and a future second-round pick to Los Angeles for Payton, Rick Fox and a lottery-protected first-round draft pick.

Wolves finally signed Hudson, we are unstoppable barring any injuries.

With the talk about Peja wanting to be traded, I doubt he will be and the Kings owners say they have no intention of trading him, but I could see a Peja for Wally and Kandi or something or the nature.

I guess Delonte West is supposely gonna be a "big star" in the NBA...I hope so

And I heard Al Jefferson could end up being the 2nd best high schooler outta the draft (Behind Howard) of course I read both of this in a Boston newspaper so take it for what its worth I guess

Trade Of August 6th With Lakers Has Been Amended

The Boston Celtics announced today that the August 6th trade with the Los Angeles Lakers, in which the Celtics received Gary Payton, Rick Fox and a conditional first round draft pick in exchange for Chucky Atkins, Chris Mihm, Marcus Banks and a second round draft choice, has been amended. In the amended deal, the Celtics have sent 6’8” forward Jumaine Jones instead of Banks to the Lakers, and no longer includes the Celtics second round draft choice.

Boston still receives Payton, Fox, the conditional first round draft pick and cash considerations.

From Celtics.com

So we got Banks back I guess? Now I am hearing that Payton didnt even show for his physical :?: I thought he said he wanted to play alongside Pierce?

GP was a huge whiner for my Lakers. I'm glad he's gone. Lakers got the better of this deal. Fox is retiring, and GP is over the hill. At least Atkins plays hard and Mihm is a center the Lakers desperately needed. I duno about getting Jones now considering how many SFs the Lakers have but whatever. Good riddance to you GP, you whiner.

BCWWF
08-14-2004, 04:15 AM
The Lakers didn't gain shit, and given the right system GP will be good again. Chucky Atkins won't do shit on the Lakers, they need Malone back desperately now.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
08-15-2004, 02:31 AM
LOL You guys really missed out on Banks, I bet he ends up being something special. Jones is just another journeyman, I barely remember him playing at all for the Celts last year. Mihm is average, at best, so isn't Chucky. Gary Payton is better playing then Chucky Atkins which is basically what I am looking at. I really don't care about all the other stuff going on with this trade. Also Payton is off the books next year, which will allow us to go after a big free agent who I am sure will end up being some bum like Kurt Thomas or something :(

Carmelo's complaining is giving me a headache. He has great abilities and great leadership but he just won't let things go. First it was that situation of not going back into the game and now with Larry Brown. I really hope he matures cuz at this rate, he could turn into Isiah Rider.

No joke, I had a dream last night which included Karl Malone, and in it he was talking about which team he would play for next year, and he was saying that he wanted to go to the Wolves. It was weird, if only it were true

BCWWF

Ok, so who hear heard that Kevin Garnett and Flip Saunders were in LA today recruiting Karl Malone? It was printed in the St. Paul Pioneer Press yesterday, and today this was printed in the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

There is no truth to the rumor that Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders and league MVP Kevin Garnett are planning to fly to California to try to convince NBA veteran Karl Malone to sign with the Wolves. Garnett is headed to Europe on a vacation. And Saunders has a commitment to speak here today. "Malone doesn't even know if he wants to play anymore," said Kevin McHale, Wolves vice president of basketball operations and general manager. "If Malone decides he wants to play, we would love to try to work something out with him."

Now who has heard the constant rumors that Wally Szczerbiak is minutes from being traded to the Caviliers or the Blazers or the Knicks? Well those stories are all printed in the Pioneer Press aswell, and everytime they are printed the next day the Star Tribune comes out with quotes from Kevin McHale saying that he hasn't even talked to anybody about the deals.

To me this is getting kind of rediculous that they keep printing speculation and calling it fact. I think that this paper is just doing it so that when it makes the national media (since it always does) it will say "The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports..." I already sent an email to their offices complaining about this false reporting, if anybody else wants to here is the address:

They really are whores. I can't stand the Pioneer Press. They even scooped the U Hoops scandal just so they could sell papers. Who cares if the University of Minnesota's Final 4 appearance is wiped from the record books... who cares if we're sanctioned to hell and the state of Minnesota has to suffer... at least they sold papers!

What is this talk about Shareef for Kidd? Don't the Blazers already have Stoudamire and Van Exel?

BCWWF
09-15-2004, 10:26 PM
Everybody is focusing on that, but my question is why does anybody want Sharif?

Apprentice
09-15-2004, 10:44 PM
Shareef is a solid power forward who can get you 18-10. The Nets just lost Kenyon and probably want an inside presence. Plus, Nets are gonna try to shed contracts and Kidd's contract goes till 2009 I believe. Shareef's expires next year so, thats a lot of money they can spend after this year.

Bigg Mike
09-16-2004, 10:19 AM
Nets are clearing house, so it's obvious that they wouldn't be too hesistant on that trade. The price they pay now will make more money for them later. SAR comes off the books next year, and they could also try to unload another unwanted contract if they wanted to. They can tank this season, build a newer young core with all the draft picks they've got from Denver and what they would get from Portland and themselves as well. They seem to want Telfair in return as well, which I think the Blazers might not want to part with.
This could help both teams, the Blazers get a proven all star who turned a terrible team into a contender, arguably the best pg in the league, a triple double threat, and someone to take the pressure off Randolph. The stack of Miles, Randolph, and Kidd is essentially what NJ had 3 years ago. A great pg, a strong, just blooming pf, and a young developing SF.
However, it seems Minnesota is in the race now to try and get Kidd, with a three way deal rumored with New York.
New York gets Wally and Aaron Williams, Minny gets Kidd, K. Thomas, and Moochi Norris, Nets get Ervin Johnson, cash, and Cassell.
I just got that off hoopshype.com if anyone is interested.
Lots of different possibilities are shaping up here.

BCWWF
09-16-2004, 12:35 PM
I'm sure you read that in the Pioneer Press, and I can assure you that Minnesota is not going after Kidd, and we are not trading Wally, Cassell, or Ervin.

Kidd listed Minnesota as a place he would like to play, thats all. He doesn't fit into our system, and right now we have the deepest team in the NBA. All of our roles are filled. We aren't broken so McHale won't try to fix us.

I don't know why the Magic is so against trading Francis for him...Carter could draw a lot more than Francis.

The Icon of Elisim
09-24-2004, 12:53 AM
I can't blame teams for not wanting Carter. The best element of his game (slashing and going to the hoop) he won't/can't do consistently.

Plus he is injury prone.

BCWWF
09-24-2004, 01:34 PM
If the Wolves were going to go after a guy like Carter, it seems like Spree is the guy we would want to trade, as he has a similar game and is past him prime now. Personally I don't think the Wolves should change their lineup at all, they're so deep right now its not even funny.

Bigg Mike

They won't do that trade because they have to absolutely stupid to go through with it.
Here's just one reason you shouldn't....in 5 seasons, Steve Francis played 374 games, including one season where he was plagued with injuries. In 6 seasons, Vince Carter played in 383 games, and he was consistently "injured."
Carter has been around longer then Francis, and they still have almost the same amount of games played. Their stats are close, it's just that you'd be giving up a hard nosed player for someone who taking off his warmup suit gets injured.

C Olowokandi
F Madsen
F Szczerbiak
G Hoiberg
G Hudson

We should just pick up a few extra shitty guys and play a second team against poor opponents
