Starts in about 2 weeks. We all know where we left off. With a big gigantic 4 toed statue.
I bought season 2 a few weeks ago to refresh and now I feel up to speed and nearly as angry as I felt. I am pumped. LETS DO THIS.

im psyched for it...its one of those shows that you have to put alot of attention into getting into it...after not watching it for a while it might feel like you dont want to bother...but once it starts and something happens, you'll be back in it...
also..since we only get around 7 episodes this fall....that should leave us with a somewhat sizable cliffhanger to carry us into the rest of season 3 later in the year...so they should be building up to something good with these first few episodes

Looking forward to it.
What sort've annoys me is that they announced they are toning down the mythology (which imo was at a low point as it is) and pumping up the action for the third season. Looking forward to seeing Desmond and Henry as regular characters though.

Yeah, excited for it to start.
Hows does the whole schedule thing go? Someone said there is 7 episodes in the fall, and then how long is the break?
Boondock Saint
09-22-2006, 12:07 AM
I believe it's like this:
6 episodes (starting Oct 4th). New show takes LOST's time slot for 13 weeks. Then 17 Episodes in a row (until the season finale in May).
Boondock Saint
09-22-2006, 12:08 AM
I think that's better than what they've done the past two years, with 2 eps, 872364879364 week break, 1 ep, 029743748 week break etc. Christ that's annoying.
I wouldn't mind them trying it 24 style, starting in January and just going through til May. But then it would make the wait even longer...but it works great for 24.
Dragon
09-22-2006, 12:10 AM
I dunno, kind of sucks only having 6 episodes and then nothing for 13 weeks. How it was last season was annoying as well though with 2 week breaks and then a new show then another break.

that made no sense last season at all...I cant tell you how many people I tried to get to watch the show who were turned off because they couldnt figure out when a new episode was etc,....id rather do it like they are this year...17 straight weeks of lost will be :y:
American TV is really weird!
I guess it's one of the bonuses of having to wait for it to come over to the UK, we get all episodes on back-to-back weeks.
Only thing is...I don't wait! I download it once it's been on ib the states so that 13 week break is gonna kill me!
I hate it when shows do that. Either way I'm fucking pumped for this season.

Interestingly enough, when in the captivity of the castaways, Ben asks if they have any books by Stephen King.

Just his tone and the voice he had while doing it made me laugh.

Tonight we find out wtf happened to Eko, Desmond and Locke (wasn't Charlie there too?) after the hatch blew up, and see what Hurley is up to on his way back to camp from the Others.
After tonight's episode, we will be halfway through the "first half" of the season. I remember reading that these 6 episodes will pretty much be self-contained, resolving the cliffhangers from the season finale and obviously setting up shit for the show's return in February.

I dunno, but I'm certainly curious as to how the fuck he knew about Locke's speech before he gave it.

The dream sequence was very well done with the positioning of everybody on the show in specific places in the airport.
Is everyone still hot for Lost?
I seem to be losing faith in the series. Word has it they have enough "ideas" for 7 seasons! I don't think they could stretch it out that long. Honestly I hope they call an end to it after this third season (although I know they won't as Sky have purchsed the rights to seasons 3 and 4).
Obviously I'm not the only one who feels the same as ratings have dropped from around 4 million to as little as 1.9. (UK stats)

I am loving this new theory on the C4 lost message board, first off it is full of idiots and viewers who know nothing of what lost is really about, but one guy has this theory that the magnetic anomoly behind the wall in the hatch was infact a teleporter, which explains why Charlie was confused at the end of season 2 and why he was suprised Locke, Eko and Des hadn't returned, and it explains why Desmond heard the speech before it actually happened.
They guy also says in another episode we find out what happened between the implosion and the start of Further Instructions, in which we will prob see Des stumble apon himself at a different time and take his own clothes off him, which is why he was naked in Further Instructions. Something like that anyway. Im creaming with theories right now.
<3 Lost.
I thought the dream sequence was pretty poorly done. =\ I'm too lazy to check who directed that episode, but he was way too spastic with the camera, IMO.
All the actors are under contract for 6 seasons. That's not to say it'll go that long, but that's what they are contracted for. Go to imdb.com and read the link on the bottom with a fairly extensive interview with all the exec producers and they talk a lot about how they don't want to pull a Twin Peaks or an X-Files and go too long or just get stupid with things.
Also, I'm assuming the numbers in England are going lower and lower because a lot of people are just downloading the new episodes off the net right when they come out in America. Although... numbers are also dwindling in the US but they're overall still pretty solid.

Ben does NOT have a tumor. Why would he just leave his X-Rays lying there by chance?
It's clearly a plan between him and that other bitch. Ben reveals the plan he originally had to Jack, so Jack now feels he is in control. He becomes closer to that other bitch and I don't know what will happen when he has to operate on him...

I'm pretty sure that this is the first time the others are being genuine, and not trying to go forward with some massive experiment on Jack or whatever. Only reason I say this is because he was asking Juliette how he saw the x-rays when Jack wasnt there to hear him, and theres no reason to continue the act if he isnt around.

Nah, Sawyer has to stay. I love Kate and all, but I really think she needs to go. Really not much left for her, and as long as she's there we're forever doomed to the Sawyer or Jack thing. Which was fine at first, but is now just beyond gay.

Eko totally says "I saw the devil" It's quite clear so Locke is a lying little bitch. But that makes it more interesting cos as someone else said it Locke was one of the best characters in series 1 but I thought was pretty weak last one.
As for this series. I really have little/no interest in the main island kinda things. Kate/Jack/Sawyer storylines keep it interesting for me. Was kinda upset at Eko's death however - he was one of the better characters and his death seemed really quite sudden. The new characters being shoehorned into the storylines seems really forced and really implausible and stupid to be honest. Does Lost not have enough loose ends without introducing yet more characters? Particularly ones who were in the initial "load" of characters.
Overall I'm feeling my interest waning. I can't really put any explanation on why, maybe I'm getting sick of nothing really being resolved but I feel like its dragging a lot more recently. Obviously there are episodes (and bits of episodes) which are great but overall I don't feel so involved. Plus does anyone else feel "patchy" looked really really lame? Talk about 1960's style Bond Villain if I ever saw one.

The only thing about this episode I didnt like was that it was obvious what the relationship was between Jack and Clair...
I think they should of shocked everyone by saying that Charlie and Clair were really brother and sister...and because they didnt know this they would continue the love thing on the island while the viewers watched on in disgust wondering when and if they would ever find out.
They wouldn't do that because Shannon and Boone were step brother and sister and had sex.

Well now. Rodrigo Santoro and that other chick were being painted as the new faces to run the show, and what happens, they get axed. However, that a was a freaky ending.
I guess Sawyer is sorta a marked man now.
Good to see Shannon and Boone come back from the dead.
But now, I have a gut feeling they are slowly going to be killing off a good chunk of the cast since ABC is rumored to have Abrams and company end the show in the future.
CAT FIGHT NEXT WEEK!
Haha this ep didn't really move along the plot, but it was entertaining none the less. The chances of her chucking a spider at someone and it landing properly and biting him before falling was unlikely, but 'tis a tv show after all.
I'm wondering if they'll somehow get out. If not then they were 2 pretty big wastes of a paycheck. Too many cons on this island
ABC is the side that DOESN'T want the show ending. It's the producers who want to end it before it turns into another Twin Peaks or X-Files. I'm guessing a total of 5 seasons. The 4th season is already confirmed.

I can't help but think that they included Locke's line of "nothing stays buried on this island" for a reason
That's what Jimmy Kimmel said as well. Also, the girl that played Nikki said that everyone on set was telling her that they weren't really going to die.
loopydate
04-01-2007, 08:34 PM
I figured that whole opening convo between Nikki and the producer was foreshadowing what happened to them. Him talking about "Maybe you were wearing a bulletproof vest!" All the talk about how people don't stay dead on TV.
Also, I loved how she had that line about guest stars being killed off, and the episode was full of guest-star cameos from characters who had been previously killed off: Boone, Shannon, Arzt, Ethan...
Dave Youell

God I hope not, there's far too many unanswered questions, I think this was just an example of how greed can do bad things to you. Or at least I hope that was the only point of the ep, that and Palo is a dick for not mentioning that he knows there's another hatch and that he's seen the other, oh and got a fucking walkie talkie!
I can see Sawyer making a rescue attempt for Jack, Kate and co as Ben said he'd let the other guys go once Jack left the island, Jack hasn't left yet, so he can still hold them all and be a man of his word as promised.
Sawyer can use the walkie to find out there location etc, only problem is it's a pretty weak rescue team.

Did anyone else think this episode was a lot like those old WIP movies that Tarantino jizzes himself over? Two girls on the run from the law, stickin' together. Then the two girls cuffed together, fighting, falling in mud... It was like Katesploitation this week.
I'm just not all that impressed with Kate's backstory. Decent episode tonight, and I liked the Sawyer subplot. I'm definitely intrigued with where they're going with the Locke story. But I just really don't care about Kate anymore, other than the fact that she's hot. She's become a pretty one-note character. Oh, and now that the village is empty, all the survivors should just move in there.
They should change the name of the show to 'Jack, Kate, Sawyer and the rest of the Scrubs stuck on an Island.'
Or maybe just 'Sawyer and the Lost Crew' would work.
If he's not a main focus of whatever the main story arc is then he's hogging all the screen time in the secondary story arc, such as tonight getting conned to be nice to everyone.
This wasn't so bad when his character was interesting and he was a stubborn dick. Now that he's been completely pussified, it's pretty stupid. He can't gut a fish so he agrees to make amends with everyone? Whatever.
I think the writers totally forgot that they have another 6 to 8 people to focus on storyline wise. The episodes themselves seem to be gaining steam, but for fuck's sake, I hope they remember the rest of the ensemble of an ensemble cast.

Lovin the season so far. Esp the Desmond storyline. What I want to know is this; the presence of the old woman, she was more or less a guide to him in the past, where he was reliving days he already has, and she was explaining no matter how much he tries, he cannot stop 'course correction'.
Now for a long time I have thought that there is a force (a person, group or power) above that of Ben and Jacob and The Others. Purely for the fact he doesn't have all the answers, he is not invincible, and the mystery of the monster and the fact that all of these people crashed on the island together.
So this old woman, is she part of a body or power that knows what has happened to Desmond after turning the key? She was there in the past with him and understands whats at stake, who is she? where she come from?
Also just seen the preview clips for the next episode, 'something is coming' - Maybe Penny with rescue? Maybe an other force coming to get rid of the losties once and for all?
I read a theory somewhere and kinda agree that Locke's father could be the very original Sawyer who conned Sawyer's family and resulted in their death, i.e he is the man he has been looking for and its Locke's con man father. That would be an awesome scene.
I hear Sawyer yell 'FINISH HIM' lol and knock Locke to the floor in the jungle in the preview.

Jon Kano
04-16-2007, 09:54 PM
I dunno I mean if she arrives, that means she knows where the Island is on the global map, and if she were smart, would have people tracking her when she arrives. This would mean, even if she and her party are held against their will, the real world would be able to find them. I don't like that idea much unless 3rd season is the last which it isnt.
I think its THE BRIG thats no flashbacks. Then there is an episode call THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN - There have already been enough references to The Wizard of Oz - The name Henry Gale and the balloon thang. But I take it we might find out who the big boss man Jacob is. I have no idea. It better not be someone like Jack's father.

Also, for those who know/read comics: tonights episode, 'Catch-22' is written by Brian K. Vaughn (Y: The Last Man, Ex Machina, Runaways, Pride of Baghdad). Looking forward to it.

What, the Charlie thing? You had to know that was a flash forward.

Man, Kate might be an annoying character, but she sure looks good in underwear.

Rosario Dawson drops in? I didn't catch the credits. But talk about your angel from above.
John Locke. Where you at?
Yeah, Ben says "See you in a week." See him next week I guess?

Nah, don't think so. Remember, each episode usually only encapsulates a day or 2 on the island. So I wouldn't expect to see the Others again until at least the season finale.
Sawyer mentioned Bernard. I wonder if we'll actually see Rose and Bernard at all this season. Maybe during the season finale.
Anyways, good ep.
