Seeing the Knicks as legitimate competition again would be incredible IMO.

Read an article just a second ago and the Knicks would probably look to pick up Chris Bosh along with LeBron. That would be a GREAT start.

the Knick pretty much HAVE to get someone first to entice James to sign...otherwise, he's either staying or going to play with Rose in Chicago.

Juan
05-14-2010, 04:08 AM
I think Chicago is the least likely scenario

Dragon
05-14-2010, 04:38 AM
Yeah, Knicks have room for two of the big name guys. They only have 4 or 5 players actually signed for next year.

Dragon
05-14-2010, 05:08 AM
Also heard Chicago a lot as a favorite to land LeBron and I can't really picture that. Maybe I'm wrong and LeBron is up for the challenge of living up to Jordan's legacy but I can't imagine it.

Not really. All Lebron has to do is say I want so and so on the team, let me talk to him and the Knicks will say "Here take this contract with you"

Curry, Chandler, Gallinari, and Douglas I think.

If I was Donnie Walsh I'd have Chris Bosh locked up at 12:01am on July 1st

BTW, LeBron is better than him. Sayin.

No, no he isn't. After watching LeBron go down to the Celtics, LeBron isn't better than Kobe.

All I'm saying is not even Jordan won one without Scottie. Batshaq didn't win one without Kobin or the Flash. Hell, even Hakeem had The Glide and look at Duncan's supporting casts.

Pippen was overrated, Jordan made a good player look great, I mean look at Scotties career without Jordan.

And as a Raptors fan, I'd say thank you, and hope we get Lee in a Sign and Trade, cause Bosh wants max money with max years. And to me, after watching him play for 6 years, I'd say he isn't worth it.

Wow how quickly everyone forgets how Kobe couldn't win a playoff series before he got Pau Gasol.

Amazing.

Also this is just a prediction but I can see Mike Brown being your next Coach of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Kobe has always had more to work with than LeBron. There was a short time after Shaq left where Kobe was carrying the team on his back, and it definitely showed because Lakeshow started going downhill. As great as Kobe is, he's ALWAYS had solid back-up.

You could throw LeBron onto ANY team and that team would be instant playoff contenders. I don't think the same is true for Kobe.

Rumor has it that Delonte West was banging Lebron's Mom, and Lebron found out sometime after game 4.

Greatest rumor ever? I think so.

Pippen was All NBA first team and was 3rd in MVP voting after Jordan left.

Who exactly is saying that Kobe has or can win a title by himself?

NO ONE CAN WIN A TITLE ALONE.

Juan
05-14-2010, 09:49 PM
You could throw LeBron onto ANY team and that team would be instant playoff contenders. I don't think the same is true for Kobe.

This is a bold statement coming from someone who hasn't watched any games all season

I believe you may have misinterpreted what I was saying. Only time I chimed in was when Narc said Lebron could win no titles and still be the greatest basketball player to ever live. Sorry, but I just had to disagree with that.

Juan

I feel good about the Celtics. The way they're working Rondo in has been incredible. They're in a system now where they don't stand a very good chance of losing if two of their big 4 are on.
The Magic are on fire so that will be tough

Dwight Howard is lame as hell. He is like a huge child, I can't stand his stupid goofball attitude. With his size & athletic ability he should be dominating offensively. He doesn't though, when he does get a lot of points its when other people are creating the offense for him.

alvarado52

as bad as Orlando played, i'd say they can feel good that they only lost by 4 points. There is no way Orlando plays like that the entire series.

Also, Big Baby's flopping and falling on the ground every game is annoying.

Jesus Shuttlesworth
05-16-2010, 11:46 PM
That fat kid in the front row flopped when he got trucked by Glen Davis last year. Pretty sure he was in the front row again today

Magic coming back worries me but at the same time at least the Celtics didn't blow the lead completely and lose the game. Getting 1 win in Orlando is HUGE, if they came back to Boston down 0-2 there was no way in my mind they would win this series.

What's all this that John Wall is a point guard?

I mean he is a point guard, but he can def be a starting 2 guard in the NBA. He's Dwayne Wade like. A backcourt of Jrue Holliday and John Wall can easily work for a very long time.

definitely. They keep pegging wall as a 1 when he can effectively play the 2 without much problem, adjustment wise. I would actually go as far as to say he would be better at the 2, and have a more immediate impact.

Well lets hope that the Wizards dont screw up like they did when they took Kwame Brown #1 a couple of years ago.

Though I guess to be fair, the 2001 draft class was horrible.

Pau Gasol, Jason Richardson, Joe Johnson and Tony Parker went in the 1st and the 2nd round was full of a bunch of guys that aren't even playing anymore..not Counting Arenas.

Can't believe this at all. My friends and I were watching the draft lottery in between the hockey playoffs and the Celtics game and just laughing about the Wizards because they are terrible and even though we love them they are so easy to make fun of. Then the actual lottery thing starts and they start reading off the teams and they put a graphic up in the exact order that they were being picked and we were like WTF, why the fuck do they have a graphic with the order already determined, there is no suspense at all, and the Wizards were at number 3. I guess it was some crazy fucking anamoly of a coincidence, and the order strayed from that around #6 and we were like damn, we are guaranteed a top 3 pick. As soon as they announced Philadelphia for #2 we went fucking crazy, like the most surreal thing. I don't even know.

Emperor Smeat
05-19-2010, 08:33 PM
They do the actual drawing behind closed doors and supposedly only a couple of people are allowed to witness it and it can't be taped.

Its supposed to prevent the draft order being leaked before the show and prevent "tanking" during a season but at the same time people believe the whole thing is rigged since majority of the time the worst team doesn't get the top pick.

Suns played great last night (offense wise) until the end of the game. The Lakers are one of those teams where a team like the Suns have to play all out just to keep it close. Then they get tired in the 4th and that's when the Lakers slam it home.

Definately done in 4 or 5 games. Grant Hill and Dudley played tremendous last night. Staud played like shit again. They could not stop Gasol, Odom and Brown. That's the biggest problem.

from deadspin:

Hall-of-Famer Calvin Murphy appeared on ESPN Radio in Houston (http://espn975.com/ESPNOnAir/TheDrive/tabid/1145/Default.aspx) today and as all basketball conversations must do, the topic turned to the rumors about Delonte West's dalliance with LeBron James' mom. Murphy's response: "It ain't no rumor."
Murphy—who is not exactly (http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0FCJ/is_6_30/ai_98829038/) the classiest individual (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calvin_murphy#Post-NBA_life) to ever wear an NBA uniform—didn't just say he thinks it could have possibly, maybe happened. He says the story is "absolutely true," that everyone knew about it, and he has "legit" sources who can prove it. Oh, and there's also more than one dude involved. Unbelievable.
Since Murphy had already gone all-in, he also threw out new rumors about LeBron "taking time off" and had some rather heated opinions about who deserves more blame in this situation. (Calvin is also a fan of the word "homeslice.") One way or another, someone is definitely getting blackballed by the NBA, because true or not, the powers that be can't be happy about this.
By the way, when Calvin Murphy is distressed by your behavior (http://www.click2houston.com/news/3979374/detail.html) ... then you really messed up somewhere.
You can listen to the whole interview from ESPN 97.5's (http://espn975.com/ESPNOnAir/TheDrive/tabid/1145/Default.aspx) "The Drive with Carl Dukes, Dave Tepper and Julie Takahashi" by clicking here. (http://espn975.com/DesktopModules/Podcaster/podcast.aspx?moduleid=5575)

Rajon Rondo definitely isn't one of the top 5 PG in the NBA because he isn't a great jump shooter

That might be sort of a blessing for him since every team tends to under-estimate his shooting potential ever since the 2006 NBA Draft. If his shooting was better, he doesn't fall far to be picked by the Celtics and everyone would have already created a defense to contain him.

The downside is Celtics can't just rely on his shooting similar to the Cavs with Lebron.

It's kind of inexcusable to not have adjusted already, tbh.

alvarado52
05-25-2010, 11:28 PM
Very inexcusable. Every player in the NBA has made basketball their lives, so there is no excuse for lacking adjustements.

These past two games are frustrating as shit.
1) Suns are clogging the lane with the zone, making our strength (post scoring, size) all the harder
2) at the very least, there is NO excuse for letting the opposite team get offensive boards. Thats just the bigs being lazy as shit.
3) these fouls are fucking ridiculous, alot of been good calls, but it seems like the Lakers cant play defense in fear of a foul being called (which i dont blame them).

Also, the zone defense is prone to foul commitment, so either the ref's arent paying enough attention to that, or the Suns play the cleanest, greatest zone D in nba history.

If Perk can't play in the next game I've lost all faith in David Stern and the refs

Loose Cannon

nah, they'll retract at least the 2nd tech from last night

Jeritron

Bullshit call on Rondo too. I'm not saying the Celtics wouldn't have lost anyways, but there was some garbage officiating going on.

Magic vs Suns in the finals would be kind of hilarious at this point.

They rescinded Perk's T

I'm actually surprised the one Techincal got rescinded. I mean both should be rescinded.

Since Stern has been such a defender of the referees. I'm surprised he would admit they are actually aren't infalliable when there is so much attention on them.

Not surprised since earlier in the series they also rescinded any punishment on Howard elbowing people even though he's still elbowing people (KG in Game 3). Would have created a big dilemma for suspending Perkins but not Howard.

double technicals are so stupid. They need to call a T on whoever is more engaged than the other, be it verbally or physically.

how is that luck, exactly? He was running to get a potential rebound, caught the ball, and put it back in.

Ron Artest couldn't make anything, but yet he can somehow make that.

That was a hard fuckin shot.
