HBK says the only reason he helped Triple H was because they have a common enemy. Michaels says he realises one man cannot take Vince down, so it might take a group of men. A group of...degenerates. HBK tells Vince that if he is not going to forget 1997, then maybe Shawn & Hunter shouldn't forget 1997. Basically they reform D-Generation X, not because they are friends again, but because they have an enemy who is holding the past against them and won't let it go. Vince wants to take them to the past, they survive like they did in the past.
Vince McMahon, being a sly dog, decides to break this early reunion of megapowers off, by banishing Shawn Michaels to SmackDown!. Vince McMahon signs The Spirit Squad vs. DX for later that night. McMahon challenges Helmsley to bring his entire army and this will be the first battle of the war, assuming Triple H survives that night. Triple H, realising he is now alone in DX, doesn't try to recruit members, but instead takes The SS on alone, claiming he doesn't need the help of Michaels or anyone else.
It is a mugging, with The Spirit Squad decimating Triple H. They all pile on top of Triple H after a Kenny Leg Drop. Jim Ross begs Triple H to get allies in his fight against Vince.
On SmackDown!, Shawn Michaels continues DX by calling it "DX Blue" or something like that. He recruits his students, Paul London & Brian Kendrick, as well as their valet, Jillian Hall.
On RAW, Triple H makes an offer to Matt Striker to join DX Red. I really think Striker would be an excellent fit to the stable. For some reason I can just seem him standing beside Triple H cracking out a line like "I haven't had so much action since I was a teacher and your daughters...and sons, offered to sleep with me. Believe me, they did offer.". Stick Trish Stratus, Victoria or Trinity, or someone, with them. For some reason, I can see Rob Conway hitching a DX ride as well.
