At first, they seem like a thrown together tag team (because they really are), but they work, in my opinion. They've got the history back some seven years, to when they were opponents in WCW. All they have to do is acknowledge that Jimmy Wang Yang was a Yung Dragon, which is fine, because they could just play up Josh Mathews' old line about Jimmy Yang being an actor. The story and chemistry is all there for the WWE to take advantage of. These guys are just fun in the ring. It'll be a shame if we don't see some matches between the teams in 2008. We've got the 15 Minutes of Fame coming up, and hopefully we also get a 2/3 Falls Tag Team Match, and even a 30-minute Iron Man Tag. |

They had a few good matches on TV. They're not exactly the new Hardy Boys. They ARE, in fact, just a thrown-together team, and if they win the WWE Tag Titles it will certainly be short-lived. When have the WWE EVER done a 2/3 Falls Tag match or a 30 Minute Iron Man Tag? EVER? |

The 15 Minutes of Fame Match has been amended to Iron Man style, I believe, which is close enough to what I was suggesting. They're only little baby steps, but the point is, the WWE is taking steps. My point with this thread was, though, that if you are sick of the WWE and TNA's shitty writing and shitty wrestling, ECW at least provides a little reprieve from such crap. Even if it does only last for 15 minutes a week. Just ignore that one of the four participants is meant to be an Asian portraying a cowboy. It really doesn't get in the way of the fun. Jimmy Wang Yang was recognised by the WWE as "the most underrated of the year" in WWE Magazine. It doesn't signify much, but you have to believe that the WWE knows they have this fun wrestler under contract, and is capable of doing what they've given him so far. |
