Yeah, I don't understand why they don't just use their own themes as BGM in the menus. I'd much rather listen to something like MVP's theme than the shit that's on the SVR soundtracks.

They usually cut the themes to about a minute anyway so they'd be cut off.

Two minutes and how often do you leave it on the menu screen?

I usually only take a minute, tops.

I think it's a good idea to remove the licensed music and just allow us to use the entrance music as the menu music or allow us to just use the custom soundtrack to make our own menu music.

Considering I'd generally prefer listening to the sound of nails on a chalkboard over listening to their usual selection of music, MVP's theme would kind of be a no-brainer.

1) Bring back custom themes in the CAW menus... and not those gimmicky crap themes, like the ones that sound like they're for Dracula or for a cowboy. I'm sure Jim Johnston has some generic-sounding-yet-decent themes knocking around in his collection over there. Use some of them, for God's sake. FFS, I'll even make a list of themes you could include that could be used for anybody.

1a) On a similar note, how about some generic titantrons for our CAWs? Maybe some random effects, some random clips of moves, or... GASP... let us create our own! With HDDs on the next-gen systems, this should be easy. Generate a bunch of clips of the CAW model performing moves from his/her moveset, animate some random 3D text of his/her name, maybe some extra random effects, and voila! You've got yourself a titantron for the CAW. If the video team at WWE can make a promo video in a matter of hours with amazing effects and clip usage, this feature should be simple.

2) Take a good, long, hard look at No Mercy and see why it's still one of the best games of all time, and why fans still like playing it from time to time.

3) The ringside cameramen idea sounds like a great one, something that could be useful (getting in the way of spots, using their camera, etc.)

4) Put in some more generic entrance moves... yeah it's nice to have missing wrestlers' entrances, but what about those who want to create their own CAWs? I'm sick of being restricted to about 2 or 3 original entrance walks/poses. Otherwise, CAE is pretty damn good.

5) A decent Season Mode. Not this bullshit combined-24/7-GM-season-mode crap. A real Season Mode... no voiceovers (to fit other USEFUL stuff), realistic storylines (no Candice and her magic wand and other stupid embarrassing shit), and actual branching plots (none of this do-different-things-and-get-the-same-result crap).

6) Stop fucking up the roster. Why on earth would you leave out Kendrick and London, only to include useless features?

6a) On a similar note, do we really need legends? I don't care much for them, as I never use them. Sure, they're good for using them in challenges to unlock shit and for nostalgic storylines, like in SVR 07 (I believe), but really I see no need for them.

6b) On a similarly similar note, if you're going to include legends, at least get some new ones. I'm sick of The Rock and Stone Cold being legends year after year. Why not include more recents names that they still own? Mr. Perfect, Goldust, Jesse Ventura, Ultimate Warrior (which might be hard since he renamed himself that), and Greg Valentine come to mind.

7) Loading time. I know this can't be avoided, but why not try to streamline everything so that loading time is minimized? I swear, loading times increase with each passing year, to the point where I wait an eternity before playing a simple exhibition match just for fun. The fun dissipates with time until I'm left bitter and angry by the time it finally loads.

8) Customization. Why can't we switch rosters without learning hexadecimal and picking up a Code Break / Action Replay / whatever and trying to find hack sites that give out codes for doing so? Why can't we change display names for wrestlers, when Johnny Nitro changes to John Morrison, but doesn't change much else? I can live with hearing "Johnny Nitro" while "John Morrison" displays on the name title card that flashes on the screen. Or better yet, why not let us change the call name as well? I could better live with "John" being called while the full name is displayed.

7a) On a similar note, why not include call names for removed/left-out wrestlers? Why not a call name for "Paul London", "Brian Kendrick", "Joey Matthews", "Alejandro Estrada", "Eddie Guerrero", "Sgt. Slaughter", "Trish Stratus", "Lita", "Rob Van Dam", etc., etc., etc.? Why not?? Besides permission issues, that is. At least for active wrestlers that were left out... why not?

8) ECW is a third brand. Treat it like such. This doesn't mean change the franchise to "Smackdown vs. RAW vs. ECW", but don't treat it like it's something you feel obligated to acknowledge. I want a full 1/3 of the roster taken up by ECW talent. Sure, I may not watch ECW all that much, but why only 3 or 4 ECW guys? ECW may be the retarded cousin of the Big Two Brands, but don't admit it by making it an afterthought.

9) Commentary. It sucks. Either get rid of it, or give J.R. some Valium so he sounds more like he does on live TV. Seriously, year after year, JR and Lawler sound like two guys at the nursing home talking about the good ol' days over a cup of warm tea and a game of bridge. Either tell them to hype it up a bit and not sound so forced, or get rid of it altogether. Maybe then we could fit in more themes, titantrons, moves, etc.

10) Finally, bring back more indy moves and moves used by left-out talent or talent that left WWE. You can't copyright or trademark a move (otherwise doing a Stone Cold Stunner would be illegal and there would have ben copyright infringement issues with Booker T's bookend move - a copy of the Rock's rock bottom), so why not rename it something silly and leave it in? Leave in the Diamond Cutter and call it what it is: a standing cutter. Leave in Angle's Olympic Slam and call it by its real name: fireman carry slam.

Oh, and the GM mode, not being able to choose how the match ends is fucking stupid.

If you are going to allow people to book their own shows and storylines, at least admit it is fake and let it be done properly.

And take out the actual matches and have the fully simmed. That way you could include wrestlers who didn't make the game or even allow people to take on OVW as a seperate brand and fight from the bottom up. Or allow people to start their own brand.

Or something else that would make this feature less retarded.

Being able to choose winners in GM mode would be great, also make it a seperate section of the game again, it really pissed me off that I couldn't do Season Mode for a bit then switch to GM without losing all my progress.

Get rid of the fighting style selections, I had to ditch half my moveset from 07 when recreating my CAW in 08.

Don't bother putting choices in 24/7 mode if THEY DON'T WORK. Being asked if I wanted to give up the Title, then having it taken anyway was enough of an insult for me to never play 08's 24/7 mode ever again, I can't beleive bad programming like that made it into the final game.

It still feels a bit too arcade-like, especially striking moves. Slow the pace down a tiny amount.

Remove the struggle submission system and put the button mashing back in, I like ruining my control pads.

Allow the storing of finishers again, without them, the Royal Rumble is more of a pain than a pleasure.

And the most important thing of all... Put Santino in the game and give him tonnes of diaologue in season mode.

Reading back over my suggestions, I realise they are mostly things than were ALREADY in SVR 07 but got taken out for no apparent good reason. If MVP was in 07 I would still be playing it.
