My stock head unit doesn't play MP3 discs. I haven't bothered to go after market because I would lose the functionality of one of the screens in my car due to the design of it. Unfortunate, but not a big deal.

Is it an old car? Most of the new models I have any experience with can support a CD changer, which means you can buy an MP3 CD changer. With the sheer number of tracks you can put on them, you don't need to change the discs frequently.
