I was using utorrent, but I messed up the settings and had to reinstall. I switched to bit torrent. I can't even download shit and surf at the same time. The torrents literally hog 100% of my connection. Things were so much better back when I had cable.


The port it uses is closed, but the one on my laptop was closed as well, yet it peaked at 400kbs.

It could be the difference in router setup. The other guy might have his router "tuned" properly to deal with torrents. That or you got the short end of the stick on the DSL.

And Bit Torrent is total shit, to be totally honest.

Also, have you tried a broadband test by any chance, just to see if it's just the torrents and not the shitty DSL? http://www.broadbandreports.com/stest
