The fact that some of the cases were thrown out, doesn't hide the fact that many weren't.

Again, I'm less inclined to argue really if someone posing as an underage kid starts the conversation. Still fucked up but you can't go out and start trying to build up the situation like that.

However if the guy is actively PMing people he thinks are 13 in that manner, saying the shit these guys say, and then comes to the house, it shows that he has the intention of finding little kids to have sex with.

And for the record, I emphasized the actress' age because you guys were hung up on this 'underage character' that was in danger. Please know that the bulk of my argument is based on the fact that nobody was in any real danger, and the premise was an elaborate entrapment to begin with.

I was never hung up on the character being in danger... I don't think anyone was.

It's the fact that he didn't know it was a character which proves, if he found the profile, sent the PM, said all the details, drove to the house, that he is actively looking for a 13 year old to have sex with.

Am fucking disgusted by this show. While I obviously do not sympathize with child predators, what gives a show the right to completely humiliate somebody in front of every single person they know? Let the god damn law deal with them, seems like cruel and unusual punishment to me.

I already posted one thing on this, based off of Perverted Justice's own acts.

The main piece of evidence (the chat) can be altered. For all we know, the 18 year old actor could have been presenting themselves AS an 18 year old, and it was changed after the fact. They do a copy and paste job on their own websites, and it's not like that can be hacked at all.

I'm not saying these people are good people are even decent people. In the cases where they in fact did initiate the chat, good for them.

This is the only predator I have ever felt bad for. I suppose it's because he has a baby face, and he's pretty much just a kid himself.





I honestly don't see him as a computer predator, but just a dumb teenage kid who didn't think clearly, and mentally, probably saw himself as a 13-year old, not aware that he was an adult. Society kinda babies kids now, so many of them don't really mature until they're like 30, and mentally, they still think and act like teenagers, and even see themselves as one through out their twenties. I know not everyone is like this, but plenty are. I think that was the case with Richer. And given that he actually was a teenager, it's not too shocking that he made this error.

The kid wouldn't have done anything if the decoy hadn't egged him on. He wasn't following a 13-year old home from school for Pete's sake. So now the tax payers have to pay tens of thousands of dollars to keep a generally harmless boy in jail? Insane. Let's stick to what really matters.

Richer is no "computer predator" or "pedophile". I love "To Catch a Predator", but the show sometimes did messed up stuff for the sake of ratings, including ruining the life of a student.

I bet you anything those cops wouldn't be acting like it was a deranged serial killer coming out of the house if those cameras weren't on. They did it for the sake of entertainment. (The screaming, and the tackling, with tazers out.)

Richer was living at home with his parents, he was a freshmen in college, and he wasn't even old enough to buy booze. I don't consider people fully grown adults until they are at least 21. 19 is stll a teenager.

Does that Richer kid need some help? Yes, and I hope he's getting it. But is he worthy of being locked away in prison, having his life ruined, and being branded a sex offender for the rest of his life? No, not in my book. Obviously in yours. But I'd rather have my tax dollars go to placing real criminals behind bars, not lonely internet geek's or bored young men.
