Could CM Punk lead a stable?

Punk could lead a stable. He's wonderful on the mic and in the ring.

The question is does he need to. I don't think he does. Playing the cowardly heel would be defeating to the "I'm better than you" gimmick. All he needs to do is go out and have brilliant matches with whoever he happens to face and beat them and get heat from the marks by being substance free. Simple and effective.
