I'm sure if the Mets offered anything he could have. Red Sox where paying his full salary with or without a trade, so they basically just got a body for him. Duncan isn't even gonna be on the major league roster unless a few guys down with injuries.

lol @ Manny though, he couldn't play because of his hand then comes in and hits a grand slam on the first pitch

That sounds like Manny being Manny. Just like in Boston when he had that supposed leg (or was it hamstring) injury and all the X-rays came back negative.
