So I watched some of that National Rugby League show. Really did not understand what was going on at all. All I could get out of it was one team would snap the ball, run it for 3-5m and then get tackled, rinse and repeat. Once they got to about midfield they would kick it downfield, the other team would get the ball and the process would start over.

Obviously I get that I didn't 'understand' it because it was the first time I've ever watched rugby (in any form).

If you ever see real rugby watch it. There's a lot more going on that makes it more entertaining. In this league, yeah, you're description is pretty bang on. I personally find it very boring with no strategy.

That sounds exactly like the NFL, except add helmets, pads and stoppages.
