For a worker, heels. The heel is usually the guy in charge in the ring, 'leading' if you will. Pretty rare a guy in his first match will ever be a heel. Probably a different story 'at the top' though. With how quick the turnover of talent is nowadays and the small window of opportunity guys get, connecting with the audience and getting over as a babyface is pretty important and harder to do than really getting over as a heel.
