Irrespective of ratings, I would be interested to see how the change in classification has affected income. It is hard to quantify with the recession and such.

I think everyone with a romantic view of the Attitude era watched wrestling for a long time as a kid, and then it changed when they got into their teens. It fit with the growing up, and the great thing about it was how it was different to what you had watched before.

Obviously, since it has reverted somewhat, it is going to upset the loyals, but you really aren't the audience who spend money on merchandise, and force your parents to buy you, and them tickets to shows. Thats just how it is. I work for the people who pay me the most money, so you can't expect different of anybody else.

Seriously though, who in their right mind is going to buy this PPV? It is one of the minor ones, and even if you love Cena/Orton matches, why would you buy it less than a month after they fought in a HIAC match?

This only adds to the fact that WWE is ruining the "awe" of the Hell in a Cell match. Hell in a Cell is supposed to be the coup de grace for feuds, not just a speed bump to the finish.

I honestly don't see how an Iron Man match is more brutal or feud ending than a Cell match or even an I Quit match for that matter.

I just had a terrifying thought. Maybe this is building to a match designed for Cena. I'm thinking of a "Chain Gang Match", like a strap match/dog collar match but they're chained at the ankle.

A little. It's not strictly their fault they keep getting booked over and over again. Who knows. Someone should experience quite acute pain for this decision, for sure.

So basically no chance of Orton on Raw today using what Cena said about "no more title rematches if Orton lost in the Cell" but using it against Cena.

On paper, this might become the worst Iron Man match in WWF/WWE history because of how bad both of these guys are as wrestlers (and in a way of how an Iron Man Match is set up to begin with).

Feuds that continue intermittently over the course of years aren't bad (Sting/Flair, HHH/Rock, etc) per se, it's just the fact that this feud seems to have been going on nonstop for about two years now.

Ok hypothetical question. Would you rather watch a 60 minute iron man match with Cena and Orton if it meant they wouldn't wrestle each other for at least a year or have to put up with the feud for the rest of the year?

I can wait for the match to start, set an alarm for an hour later, and maybe catch the finish or read the result. The other way, their 'classic rivalry' will infiltrate TV at the same disparaging rate as the last god knows how long.

They could have it end in a draw. That way Orton doesn't lose the title, Cena doesn't have to leave Raw and the continue to feud until Wrestlemania where they decide to just attempt to have a regular singles match to finally end the feud.

Watching the match sounds better but it doesn't mean after 2-3 months the feud restarts if Orton wins the rumble or even worse now Triple H replaces Cena in the main event. Probably has worse potential for Smackdown if Cena went there and the writters kept the same mindset with him like they do on RAW.

What's also terrible is that the other announced match is a giant Raw vs. Smackdown tag team match. Which most likely means instead of getting Miz vs. Morrison one on one, we'll get them in a 14 man tag match.
