I actually like the idea of doing the match just for pride. I hope/assume it will be a elimination type of match.
Why does everything have to be for a title or title shot? Just let them go at. |

I don't think the match will be elimination rules. I had the idea last night that the main event of Survivor Series could be the winning team at Bragging Rights all challenging for their brand's World Title in an Eight-Man Elimination Match. So we'd get something like Randy Orton vs. Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Big Show vs. Jack Swagger vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Mark Henry. It's got a mixture of established main event talent, rising stars, and guys that would be fresh to the title picture.
SmackDown! could hypothetically offer something like The Undertaker vs. Chris Jericho vs. Kane vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Shad Gaspard vs. JTG vs. Eric Escobar vs. Drew McIntyre. But they have no chance of winning. That's similar to the idea CSLi Manning had. I really do like Thrilla's idea of the winning brand getting a draft pick of their choice (obviously not a champion). They could really shake things up by moving Shawn Michaels to SmackDown!. That'd never happen, but a man could dream. |

Pride doesn't exist. They do a draft every year, and they do random ass trades every four months in between. There is no definitive branding, thus there cannot be pride.

Pride is fine, but what makes this match SO important to be in that Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase are fighting each other just to get ON the team? They're friends, after all. Doesn't make sense with no incentive.

Technically, they weren't fighting each other. They just took turns trying to pin Cena when their partner wasn't immediately there, and then Cody took a decidedly quicker way of things. They're doing a lot of arguing now, but they weren't fighting. ...technically. More to the point, I guess it's a thing where "Our team beat SmackDown because we're superior athletes, and I was on the team, so I'm clearly of superior make." |
