If Sanchez can essentially play like Trent Dilfer did when the Ravens won the Super Bowl, I could actually see the Jets making a little noise in the playoffs. It's not crazy to think that with an average QB, they could've won the division this year...if Sanchez can avoid making any bad mistakes, they can ride that running game and defense pretty far.
RP, if the Bengals win, they play the Chargers no matter what, meaning you'd get New England. Which, if you believe the rumors, is what Belichick wants and why he didn't put up much of a fight for the 3rd seed. |

This is the first Giants team to give up 40 points in back-to-back games since 1971.
It’s the first Giants team to give up 40 or more five times in the same season since 1966. It’s the first Giants team to give up 30 or more in four of five games since 1980. And, having now given up 427 points (and counting … it’s still late in the third quarter) it’s now officially the worst Giants defense since the 1966 team that gave up a remarkable 501 points in 14 games. --- Seeya, Sheridan |

I'm just gunna say this now. If the Colts lose to the Jets or the Bengals in the playoffs, I probably wont be around forever. I'll probably lose my job and i'm 100% positive i wont get out of bed...again. So... Go Colts!

You know with wins against the Bills (OT loss), Jaguars (2 point loss with last gasp field goal), Falcons (3 point loss with last gasp TD), Dolphins (5 point loss with 2 KO returns for TD's allowed), the Jets could easily be 13-3 or 12-4 right now.
All this with a rookie QB. Definitely a good future ahead. Regardless of what happens next week, making the play offs with a rookie QB has to make the season a big success. Quite bizarre how it's ended up this way. |

Actually if we lose to the Jets, i'll be outside Bill Polians home with a torch, along with the rest of the entire Colts fanbase.

I hate the NFL, they are actually going to discuss giving the teams with nothing to play for (because they have clinched) DRAFT PICKS to play starters.
Yeah, give the 14 win team more picks...way to promote parity! |

Well...I was rooting against the Jets going into the game due to the fact that I was bitter that they got the last game at Giants Stadium and I wanted to see the Texans in the playoffs, but now that it's over...I wish them well. I'll be pulling for the Bengals again next week, but that's just because out of the teams left I'll be pulling for them in general.
Here's probably my "order of preference" for the Super Bowl: 1. Bengals 2. Cardinals 3. Packers 4. Jets 5. Colts 6. Ravens 7. Saints 8. Chargers 9. Vikings 10. Patriots 11, 12. Cowboys and Eagles tied, I'd cry if either of them won. |

Last offseason was spent mostly overhauling the defense, and I expect this offseason to be the same for the O. New OL is definite (minus Clady and Harris) and it looks like Denver will need new WRs too. Possible new QB? Who knows. Next years schedule APPEARS to be significantly easier, so I have higher hopes for next year than I had for this year. |

I know that. That's why I didn't say they "should" have been won, because it's the NFL, everyone gets close wins. Was just putting in to perspective how close they are to turning a real corner, with a rookie QB none the less. That's why good teams like the Bengals and the Patriots win divisions, they can manage to swing a couple of those closer games their way.

They could also easily be 7-9 if they didn't get the Colts and Bengals with nothing to play for.

I will ignore the obvious and say anyone who says the BENGALS ARE A GOOD TEAM (two good seasons in 20) can shut the fuck up. Your original post was fucked, because no matter how you take it, you are and idiot. The difference in one or 2 plays is what makes the NFL what it is. So STFU on teams coming close to win....an 0-16 team with close losses is still a loss. We actually treat losses like losses. |

When is losing ever a good thing you dick.
Did Cincinnati win a division this year? Yes. Makes them a good team in my book. So yeah the Detroit Lions would analyse a 50-0 thumping the same way the Patriots would a narrow 3 point defeat? Ok. |

Housecleaning has begun early.
Redskins ax Jim Zorn. I can picture Mike Shanahan going there and coaching. Only if he gets the same deal he got in Denver. So let the guessing games begin, what other coaches are gonna be out of a job after the season is over? |

I thought Raheem Morris was headed for a 1-and-done year with the Bucs when they only had 1 win, but I think since he's so young they'll give him another year.
Same can be said for the other coaches on crappy teams. Spags can hardly be blamed and is getting a lot of money, Schwartz needs time to build, etc. I can see Jack Del Rio getting dismissed...he's really the only other firing candidate that jumps to mind since the Browns appear to have saved Mangini's job |
