If Butler can keep a team of this caliber, no reason why they can't contend for the title next year. They basically did what Gonzaga and Xavier have been trying for years and that is to reach the Final 4 and championship game.

Granted I didnt see the whole thing, but if the first 25 minutes were like the last 15, the whole game was rubbish

Traditional power a lot of times get a lot of haters. UNC is obviously very similar but when you look at a lot of the stars at UNC; Michael Jordan, Vince Carter, Ty Lawson etc they are much "cooler" than the guys coming out of Duke; Christian Lattner, Grant Hill, J.J. Redick, etc.

Also their entitled student fan base I can see getting on the nerves of people. They come off as stuck up arrogant royalty or something, plus they are constantly shoved down your throat if you're a casual sports fan. There a lot of teams that are similar, but I really think it comes down to the superstar thing I mentioned earlier. I mean look at the team this year, just don't have any swag or something. Seems like they are always full of goofy white guys or nerd type black dudes that look like they grew up in white suburbia. A lot different than the norm, people generally don't like that.

I hate Duke for a number of reasons. The fan base, the snobby players, the sportscasters' bias, Christian Laettner, JJ Reddick, etc. etc.

That was one of the best games i've ever seen. The stadium was fucking electric. It was incredible. I didnt go, but it was so apparent on tv.

That ending was epic in its own way. It would have been the greatest ending, possibly ever, if Hayward hits that 50 footer. And the fact that it was so close has become a great story somehow. Like bittersweet. Everything i've read is focused on that miss. It might be the greatest miss ever.

I'm so fucking proud of Butler. When you really think about it. It was incredible what Butler did in this tournament.

I was so sure Butler was gonna score on the possession before that on Hayward's jumper. If you'll notice, it was almost the exact same spot where Jimmy Chitwood scored the game winner in Hoosiers.

I thought Hayward took a bad shot to go for the lead at the end. He was crowded out and had hands in his face from what I remember. It was a tough shot. But he rattled in and out, so he got off a pretty good shot. I thought the angle was bad though.

The final shot was fucking epic, but that would of just tied it, right? I thought the game was awesome and I thought this tourney was one of the best one's I've ever watched. Sad to see college basketball end.

Just found out the opening round of next years tourney is here in Charlotte, so I will def try and get tickets to that

Yeah I thought that was a bad shot too but it hit the other side of the rim so it ended up being pretty good, just unfortunate. Worst possible ending to one of the best tournaments ever. Oh well. And noh that final shot would have won the game. 61-59 was the final score.

I don't pay any attention to women's basketball, but that's pretty ridic.

1st half had Stanford winning 20 to 12 but at the same time also ended up costing Stanford the title since they played too defensive to take advantage and create a bigger lead.
