I've been made so ill just by reading about it and the sources of the subject matter and peoples' opinions on it that I don't think I could stomach actually watching the movie itself.

You know, I used to have a certain desire to put forth media like this--something horrifying, disturbing, outright disgusting in a way that modern audiences had never seen before, simply for the sake of being audacious. Create--I don't know, a videogame for instance--that pushed the envelope just to see it pushed, something so forth and stomach churning that it would make game critics throw up just playing review copies of it. It would be the perfect way to stake your place--to be the reference point for future examples of that medium. When something new and disgusting and unsettling comes out, people would say "at least it's not as bad as ______."

Having now experienced the other side, I no longer feel an urge to do this to people. Jesus Christ. I know there's snuff films and whatnot that depict real violence and real rape and all that, but... Jesus fucking Christ. This god damn movie. I cannot fucking imagine being proud of this.
