Yeah I tuned in just for that, and it was amazing. Cole first off, was awesome I realized he could be the next Vince McMahon in that segment, he is a fucking prick, and if they ever want to make him more than an announcer (a bad guy GM) it would work in a heartbeat.
We talked a few threads ago about how JR was aided by guys like Kane and Mic Foley to help get him over by working in angles with wrestlers. Obviously that was part of his success at one time, and I think this is going to work for Cole beyond words. Ever since Cole worked with Tazz and JBL he improved a ton, in the last two or so years he has grown immensely. I know people still hate on him, but thats fine by me, I think he is a great announcer and I enjoy his voice, it's part of WWE now, just as JR was once upon a time. I'm sure a day will come when Vince is too old and has strained his voice to where he is no longer useful, and Micheal Cole could take a bump up to GM and play the evil boss. I hope it happens after watching this video, someday. Bryan was great in the segment, he has been great in all of the segment since leaving NXT's competition. I think he has a tinge of the old Stone Cole/Brian Pillman energy for segments like this. He is a shooter through and through both on the mic and in the ring. I think it's very cool WWE is allowing him to ride this wave instead of blocking up his creativity with some B/S gimmick that nobody wants to care about. Wade Barret for NXT Winner btw |
