The long layoff between games hurt both starting goalies a lot since neither seemed as good as in the Conference finals but it did make for a really entertaining game on tv. I think NBC had the stat around the end of the 2nd period where 20% of all the shots taken ended up being goals.

In the highlights they seemed to be rowdy, but you couldn't hear them so I wouldn't know for sure. Dammit I want to watch game 2.

Chicago doesn't know how to react to being in the finals. Wait till they go to Philly..

Leighton better not give up so much so early next game. That fucker let in like 4 goals on like the first 18 shots. Was a great game though, definitely a back and forth contest. Hopefully this shows Chi players that this isnt going to be a cake walk.

The crowd in Chicago has been silent the entire playoffs. It is one of the worst arenas I have seen but NBC and Versus always make sure they mention the "madhouse on madison" and how great their fans are. When they show the camera from in the stands when they score a goal, all you see is a bunch of people just standing up and high fiving each other, that is it. Nobody is going crazy there at all.

Fans can make a break a wrestling show. To me, the card and matches could all be solid, but if the fans are dead it makes the show look like shit. A mediocre match where the fans are going nuts always looks better and feel more important than a great match where the fans are silent and unresponsive. Yeah just watched it and that crowd was terrible, which is weird because Chicago is usually loud as hell for wrestling shows. Montreal is INSANE, actually any Canadian crowd is always really good along with the North East US crowds, Washington, Minnesota, Colorado and San Jose. The rest are "meh" from what I can remember.

That was the most awesome and honest post i've ever read and it was exactly what i was thinking like 20.39 seconds ago. Like, that's why i get mad when crowds arent hot like in sports games or WWE, because the crowd is like 60% of hockey games, if not way more.

This is a GREAT finals, games are so close, the goalies are actually trying to outdo each other, this is just awesome.
