Are there any series where the fourth movie is not ridiculous? Not rhetorical. I would like thoughtful consideration to this question.

Even the best series see dropoffs by the 3rd or 4th installment. I can't think of many good 4th movies. I liked Indy 4 and Die Hard 4, but there are plenty that would argue against that. The best bet for another Jurassic Park sequel would be if all these years later Spielberg took another crack at it, and really went all out with it. It would be best as a spiritual successor to the first, which acknowledged the others but really only followed in the footsteps of the original. All of the philisophical debate about playing god and screwing with nature and genetics was the best part of the original. The dino action was incredible, but the sequels proved that it can only go so far without an engaging story. I'd also like to see Malcolm, Grant and Sadler all back together, and a bit more made of that rival company that Nedry was stealing the embryos for. Dogdson! Dogdson! We've got Dogdson here! |

Here's a dreadful thought but anyone think since it's the trend as of late that they'll try to shoehorn this in as some sort of prequel or tweener adventure?
