There are few who have the mic skills, look, and confidence to pull that off in their debut.

Yeah that was a great one. Can't really think of any better although the Radicals debut was killer as well. Did they not end up wrestling their first night in that amazing 10 man tag? Or was that the next week?
Either way that 10 man tag was killer. Also, I was so disappointed that matched Jericho with Road Dogg at Summerslam after his promo war with the Rock. It's also awesome how WWE pushed Jericho based on the fact that everyone who has ever seen him in WCW new that he needed to be a big star, and WCW never even tried. Respect WWE for that. |

Besides for Jericho..I liked the debut of Tazz in WWF as well.
Mostly because I hated Kurt Angle at first. |

God dammit Tazz' debut still gives me chills. From the "We Want Tazz" chants to the BIG pop he got when the music hit, it was awesome.
How the hell did they fuck up such a hot, impactful debut? Sheesh. |

Also...
I found it to be pretty awesome to see someone unknown (to me, at least) like Lesnar come in and destroy everything that moved. |

And some folks believe there's not a difference in the crowd reactions between now and the Attitude era. Just listen to Tazz's debut!

I think most people will agree. Still I had another thread recently where some folks just didn't believe there was a difference. Or that it wasn't related to the PG era/writing. Someone argued it was because they went to HD and that's why the crowds "sounded" quieter.

Also, the parents are only there to take their kid, and likely have no interest in popping for anyone. |

It's true that a lot of the problem with pops these days has to do with parents and kids as said before. Kids don't have enough base to really pop and their parents are just escorting them there so they don't care. The thing is you have to give the 18 to 35 year old males something to pop for to get the old Attitude era pops, however a lot of those things would alienate the young fans who are far more lucrative from a merchandise stand point. It is still sad that the ROH shows I go to have louder crowds then most WWE shows. |

Maybe I'm the only one, but if I hear a great reaction from the crowd, it gets me more into the show. Especially on t.v. I guess it's the mob mentality thing working it's magic on me. Thinking back on how great the Attitude era was and how much I was into it and thoroughly enjoyed it consistently, I'm wondering if it wasn't due, at least in part, to the great crowd reactions from guys like Rock, Austin, Taker, and HHH. Hell even lower and mid card guys often got pops bigger than Cena does now. Anybody else ever feel that way?

It's definetly one of the better modern debuts but i'd say Undertaker's had to be one of the most memorable intros from back in the day it's funny to think back then he was known as Cain.

Actually wasn't he called Kane the Undertaker or something like that for a very brief period at and just after his debut?

Yep Cain the Undertaker was used in his debut match and then after that they dropped it.

I thought Goldberg had a tremendous debut in the WWE. I think his was better then Jericho's. I am not a big fan of Jericho's because the last impression you get out of it is Rock owning him. I hated that. fucking hated Rock at that point too.
RVD and Dreamer leading to the ECW thing in 2001 was amazing. |

Jericho was someone who was feuding with some jobbroni named Juventud. Why shouldn't The Rock own him?
I'm actully going to be serious and say Kane had a really good debut. |
