But guys how perfectly does this play into Danielson's rant weeks ago about WWE holding him back even though he's the best? He gets singled out and "fired" while the rest get nothing. It would make perfect sense that the reason Slater was told not to choke was because they wanted Danielson to be the only one to get that violent.

Like Jeritron said, the only reason this seems real is because we don't have faith that WWE has the ability to pull this off because we've never seen them do it.


But WWE is always a few years behind on trends and viral campaigns have been around for a few years now. Maybe it's time.

Word is that someone very important complained to WWE officials about the angle with the idea that kids who were watching may think it’s fun to choke people with their ties. It’s unknown who actually complained but it had to be someone with a lot of power within the company or TV network.

Honestly, I wish I could have tapped into the phone lines to hear these conversations. Firing Danielson over this doesn't seem like something WWE would do unless they had no choice. For all we know they lobbied for a fine or suspension but the complaining party (Mattel?) threatened to pull their sponsorship if he wasn't fired.

And if that's the case, then Mattel (or whoever) is pretty damn heartless.

Now according to the front page, the tie-choking being unfit for PG and being something kids would want to emulate was the reason for the release though WWE is open to bringing him back after it blows over.

I know in WWE world, Danielson, despite the buzz he has created, is still really low on the food chain but I think if that is the case, a simple reprimand would have sufficed. Releasing the man seems pretty pointless.

It's silly if not down right stupid to fire Danielson if that's what actually happened. If it did happen though...

His no compete clause would end on September 10th... I'll be the ROH show in New York City September 11th. It would be nice to see the best in the world gets a kings return.
