I have no idea what it means when somebody says "stood the test of time," because games like Goldeneye really haven't since it's impossible to play if you are accustomed to the current first person shooters. Same with Super Mario Kart, come on, nobody even knows what that is anymore, much less would play it over newer racing games.

I feel like Here Comes the Pain has stood the test of time. Still probably the only respectable WWE game as far as gameplay goes along with No Mercy.
Some of the Age of Empire games feel like they have also stood the test of time. The second one specially. I feel the Red Alert games have done so too. I am surprised no one has mentioned Doom? I guess the game is becoming pretty dated as far as graphics go but I feel like the combat has not aged a bit. |
