Do champions come to the ring with the belt in exhibition mode, when the title isn't up? Also, can you go into my wwe and change the title holders anytime you want? Because that would solve the title defense problem.

I'm still looking forward to trying out Universe just to see how it is. It sounds fun, but unrealistic.

Ok, well that sorta fixes things. Only thing I'll lose there is the pre match and post match animations. No biggie.

Also, lol at the fact that you literally cannot have title matches for the unlockable belts, since there are no rankings for them. What a monumental fuck up that is.

If it was "realistic", John Cena would main event every show. The ranking absolutely need to be in place. Bit fucked that you can't change them, but that's more "realistic", IMO.

So basically there is no easy way to transition from WWE Universe to standard Exhibition.

Honestly, with the PG push, I could see them toning it down a lot. Would not be surprised to see blood and the Inferno match go. Maybe even chairshots to the head.

It's hard to get the CAW title ones with the rankings. I just moved everyone bar 3 to Raw and just won #1 contender matches and the world title one doesn't work by cashing in MITB, you have to be booked in the title match.

I could do without blood or inferno matches, but if they got rid of some of the crazy things I'm seeing in this, I'd be done. Reckon I'll be back on DoR2 in a month or so.

Yeah, if worse comes to worse once I download some CAWs I'll make an entire brand with just them. Since the whole roster will be CAWs the achievements should be fairly easy.

I'd laugh and not put it past them that downloaded CAWs don't count. They do have their own section... (Created Superstars and Downloaded Superstars).

Anyway, my final verdict on Universe is that if you don't want to do a sim or whatever, it's fun. Just imagine you're the GM and you have the championship committee that overrule you like in WCW or something

LOL @ everyone flipping out at Hasney's take on the game. Can we just wait until we have the game ourselves before we start bashing it? Hasney said himself that despite all of its flaws, he still spent hours on it. No game is perfect. He said that the physics work great and the gameplay is hugely improved. I swear some of you come in here and search for negatives in posts

To be fair, they're "flipping out" on facts that change how they play the game and most of the problems are retarded and easily fixed.

Gameplay is still nowhere near DoR2 (and therefore No Mercy), but seeing the physics makes everything more brutal, which is awesome.

RTWM can totally fuck off though.

To be fair, I think RTWM and Universe/ Career/ GM Mode appeal to two different crowds.

They started the whole RTWM thing to show off VO and personalised storys, but alot of the hardcore fans really missed the freedom of HCTP/ No Mercy Career. So I think they are branching off in both directions.

The voiced and storied RTWM for the marks, and the book it yourself approach of Universe and all related modes for the more harcore/ "smart" fans. I only ever play the RTWM once each, or as needed. To get the unlockables and check out the stories, where as Universe will keep me busy for ages as far as I can tell.

I think the only reason they've done this retarded title system/rankings is for the achievements for your CAW to get titles. I can't think why it would make sense in anyones head otherwise.

But THQ have shown themselves to be idiots with SD v Raw in the past...

One thing I've noticed about the physics is that some moves just don't work on weapons. Mostly the older ones that haven't been re-animated (just get rid of them if you're not going to bother) but also some CAF finishes. My spinning piledriver won't go through tables, for instance.

They need to go back to every other year instead of yearly. They know they need big new features every game to make people want it again, but that's how we get silly, clearly rushed design choices.

Just go back, make sure everything they're adding makes sense, refine the gameplay and make sure all moves work with your engine and don't rush. Simples. Also, to keep people a little quiet on missing a years edition, keep the game updated for a year and a half with DLC. Some people will pay, you know it.

Plus they might have cool names again other than just bolting the year on the end. A huge deal, I know

That's what I've been saying for years, and it's something Madden should do. But neither will because they make way too much on the yearly model.

The best model (for the consumer) would be to sell the base game one year and keep updating it with DLC, both free and paid DLC. Have one large DLC every year for like $20 -$30. It would include all updated attires, arenas and new moves/match types, if needed. Do not put out another one until significant changes happen.

A few years ago it was the control stick (I think 08, possibly 07). That would have been the "last game" until this year's with the physics engine. The next one could be an overhaul of graphics, for example.

I'll probably play all the matches in Universe with the wrestlers I care about, skip the ones I don't. Don't really care about achievements.

Honestly, I think Universe will keep me going a lot longer than most games. Most of the time, I just exhibition. GM mode was too in-depth for me to really get into, and I honestly rarely played the RTWM's. But with Universe it'll keep me going with the "evolving world" and the fueds I think.

Plus I'm actually excited about CAW this year. I barely bothered with CAWs or Downloaded guys at all last year because of the grind and not being able to put the abilities at what they should be right away.

Do downloaded wrestlers have their attributes intact? I know this was covered a long time ago but I can't remember the answers.

(ie: for MITB the #3-5th ranked guys from both Raw and SD get in or some shit)

It'll probably be patched, but apparently if you give unlockable belts to current title holders (IE: WWE Champion) they can defend the main title in exhibition.



Video's description:

By using an exploit involving the unlockable belts, you can defend the four main singles titles (WWE, World, US, IC) in Exhibition Mode.

Simply assign an unlocked belt to a current "big 4" title holder, and then when going through the advanced options, you'll be able to put a title on the line. As one competitor holds both belts, you can choose which one you want to defend. As you can see in the vid, Orton can now defend the WWE Championship in an exhibition match.

360 version shown here, but this also works on PS3 as well.

Not sure on the rumble, but you have to be unranked to get in MITB.

I say unranked, there are ranks below it but you can't see past the top 10.
