He made it big, but he was never the face of the company.

Not sure if my post actually makes sense...
When I think about the WWF around the time when Sid was champion, I instantly think of Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Mankind etc. When I think about WCW around the time when Sid was champion, I instantly think about Goldberg, Sting, Booker T and Jeff Jarrett. Sid was pushed in every major company and given world title runs, but even when Sid was the champion, the company he worked for still had someone else in mind as the main face of their brand. |

I know what you mean. He was a multi-time world champ, but if you were asked to name the all time greats he'd very rarely pop up in anyones top 10.

He was the same as Big Show. Could be booked like a prick for months, but if you wanted a threat for the title, he could easily be bought as one.

He was incredibly over as a face. I remember seeing him a couple of times and he got one of the biggest pops both times.
Also, I fist bumped him once! |

This.Just his size and the way they always put over his powerbomb, he was always a main event level guy, just never really the focus of the main event. He was there more to put the guy over who was facing him by being the 7ft monster.

when Sid said that you have half the brain that I do, did he screw that up on purpose, or does he really stink at remembering his lines? Like was he just playing along with it, like how Tony Chimmel says Rated R SOUPerstar? Was Nitro live, I figured they'd edit that

I liked Sid as a kid watching WWF especially his Psycho Sid character but I can see why people say he never "made it big" in terms of legends or very memorable career.
He either got over-shadowed over time or never staid long enough in a few companies to create that feeling of a Hogan, HBK, or Stone Cold style career. |

He made it big, in my opinion, however I don't believe he was ever really deserving.

He was never "big" because he is a walking living breathing botchfest. His peers probably don't take him seriously and don't respect him. Wonder if his stabbing Arn Anderson had anything to do with it?

In 1996 when the fans were tired of the "white meat" baby face Sid could of gone over, but sadly, a guy by the name of Stone Cold Steve Austin stole his thunder, and also has a tremendous better chemistry with Bret then Sid had with Shawn, other than that I don't really remember Sid being truly over, hell I still remember WM 13 and how awful it was.

If I were to give Sid:
A Piece of Paper A Pencil And a Dime. He would still be unable to draw a dime. He knows how to use scissors however. |

He may not draw a dime but he'd still rule the world with the piece of paper alone.

I loved Sid during his WWF title run and in ECW, but by the time he was "the man" in WCW, I had almost completely lost interest in WCW.
