If Morrison or Del Rio got one of the midcard titles, it would be worthless. No one would care. It would be like a prop, instead of championship.

A.L. I did not insult your opinion, I just said you should at least acknowledge the fact that the guy obviously knows what he's doing.

I don't like HHH but the guy knows what he's doing, for example.

But I'm not going to applaud the man for being so uninteresting that I can barely stand it, whether that's his intention or not. Putting on adequate matches doesn't impress me, especially in the wake of all the hype he receives.

I think Del Rio needs some top tier feud or big game match. I dont think he needs a midcard title. It wouldnt hurt him but I dont think he needs one.

Nothing wrong with him going after an IC/US title since it gives the WWE a "test" run of Del Rio as a champion and frees up more time to plan for a potential heavyweight title feud for him.

If anything, Del Rio can trash talk of how easy it was for him to be a "lower" level champion and how nobody can stop him from winning any title he wants.

I think he could carry Smackdown if he had to. That said, right now is a little early to give him the title and there are so many more non-title feuds left before he needs to become a permanent fixture in the main event. But he absolutely doesn't need the US or IC title. I'd rather him just keep feuding with top guys for now.

If WWE is intent on giving hima sustained Main Event push then I don't have a problem with him winning "The Big One" first. As has been mentioned, the likes of Batista, Lesnar, Taker all by-passed the midcard titles and I think it adds a helluva lot of "star quality" to a guy to be able to do that.

Having said that...I'm not as sold on the guy as pretty much 90% of TPDub seems to be.

As for the IC Title, I was hoping Swagger would pick it up during one of the recent Triple Threats with Ziggler and Kofi but that didn't happen. So, my vote goes to "Dashing" Cody Rhodes.

He doesn't need a mid tier title at all...he's already shown himself to be "superior" to most midcarders (see: him making Daniel Bryan tap, beating Kingston, beating R-Truth twice, etc etc), so why does he need to hold onto a title within a division where he's easily top dog?

Look, Sheamus got the WWE title with even less build, and Del Rio is, if anything, a whole helluva lot more polished than Sheamus was at the time. He can easily pull off a smarmy heel champ for a couple of months, and him grabbing a title quick would fit perfectly with his persona.

No, Alberto Del Rio is not too big for a midcard title. He is quite slim.

Mark Henry is probably too big for a midcard title. Or any title aside from his specially made ECW belt.
